Hi guys,

My timeline

Applied  20th Oct 2020

Test invitation received on 7th Dec for 25th Jan 2021

Rescheduled test to earliest available date 10th Dec.

Did test in 5 minutes. Got 100%. It was very easy.

Changed status on immi to approved same day.

Now waiting for the approval letter and ceremony invitation.

Does anyone know how long is the waiting period for ceremony? I am from Perth.

Thanks

Hard to say due to COVID you may be lucky and get an Australia Day ceremony when the ceremony has more attendees.  We waited about 4 months after approval (may have been a little longer) as our shire only did one ceremony a month.  We're in Melville.

Hi, that's awesome to know that you are also from Melville. I am from Melville as well. Which month did you have your ceremony?

We've been citizens a long time (2009) we had our Ceremony in the July.  We were lucky that we arrived before the citizen rule changes and therefore could get it after 2 years

Hey guys,

just wondering what the average wait time between passing test and ceremony is for Sydney CBD, I see online says +-5/6months but wanted to know if people got theirs sooner.

thanks

Someone posted here a few months back that they got their ceremony date in 2 months.

I applied in April 2020 and have heard nothing. Tried to get an update by phone and it was pointless calling (general line). When did u apply?

We applied on 30/Jan/2020. Myself, Hubby and our child. Good luck!

My sister also got approved straight away after her test linked to my application.

However she went back to the person conducting her interview after the test.

Someone just asked if I passed my test and then said I could left. Hopefully this did not influence my approval.

My application has been approved today. Done my test in Brisbane city this morning and approved 10mins after. I am praying for Australia Day ceremony..

Same is the case with me. My application got approved a few days back. Let's hope if we can get Australia day ceremony.

I have heard that they hold big ceremonies on Australia day and invite a lot of people to take oath.

A lady staff who did interview with me said that As long as you passed the exam it will be automatically sent to the DOHA so, she doesn't know anything at all.
