  1. Congratulations mate. I´m also on the Sunny Coast however haven´t been invited for the ceremony yet - my wife and I passed the test on the 26/10/2020 but our status remain as"Further Assessment". I have no idea how long it may take for them to approve our application. Does anyone know how long it usually takes? I can see here and in other forums that most cases are approved within a day.
  2. Hi guys, my wife and I passed the test on Monday 26/10 but just checked immi account and it is still showing: "Further Assessment" Does anyone know how long it usually takes to approve it?
  3. Did you call them or email them? I did call them a couple of days ago and the lady who spoke to me told me that if I don't have the original document I won't be able to sit the test - I decided to call them again yesterday and another guy told me he is unsure if they will be ok with that and recommended me to email the regional citizenship department but I am still waiting for their reply.
  4. I am also worried about that. My mum has posted it already but it is scheduled to arrive here just on the 29/10 and my interview/test is on the 26th. I don't know if I should just go to the interview anyway or reschedule it to a later date when I have the original birth certificate at hand
  5. Actually I just found out that I need to take the original birth certificate with me and I don´t have it here with me It is probably going to take ages for my mum to post it for me so I assume I wont be taking the test next week - can´t believe that!
  6. Nice!!!! I have also received the invitation and it is for next week
  7. It is indeed very frustrating! Have friends on the Gold Coast that applied in September and October last year and are already citizens! Apart from covid, I don't know why the process here in the sunny coast is so slow.
  8. Hi there! Nothing... all I received was an email from them asking for a copy of my original birth certificate (not the translated one) and shortly after that every thing was closed due to covid. I will email them and let you know the outcome. Thanks
  9. Hey mate... Im also from the Sunny Coast and haven't heard anything back from them yet. Applied for my citizenship in April 2019 - still waiting for the interview/test
  10. Hi Guys, I have two questions: 1- Has anyone been invited for the citizenship test lately? 2- My son was born last month - me and my wife are permanent residents, therefore he is Australian, however I would like to know if we have to include his details in our application? Does anyone know? Thanks!
  11. Hi Samlab! I have received an email from DHA requesting my original birth certificate (not the translated one) on the 23/03/2020, however I haven´t heard back form them as yet. So, Im still waiting for the citizenship test. What about you? any news?
  12. Hi Guys, I received an email from DHA last month on the 23/03/2020 requesting further information (original birth certificate) and stating that I had to reply within the next 28 days. I have done that straight away and am now waiting for their decision in order to take the citizenship test. Does anyone know if they also need to get back to me within the 28 days? Thanks!
  13. Hey guys, I have just received an email from DHA with my FOI Request and they have attached three documents but none of them seems to be explaining why my application is taking so long. There is a screen shot of my application on their end and also a document with a lot of information that I have no idea what it means. Has anyone ever requested FOI here? What sort of information did you receive back from them?
  14. Hey mate! No they haven't updated me of anything as yet. All I received was the acknowledgment email last week. Hopefully I will hear from them anytime soon. Thanks man! Wish you luck too!
  15. Yes, I sent the FOI request to the Department of Home Affairs on the 12/02 and received the acknowledgment email just last week on the 26/02.
