Hi I'm just wondering if there is a backlog for Sydney applicants?

Anyone have the idea of what's going on with Sydney processing times?

approval? and ceremony dates? Thanks!

What is form 1339 for? Never heard before.

Hi. I have a question please. When filling up the form for citizenship, should both parents include their children in their application form. I mean filling out the details and declaring that they're included with their application. Thanks for your reply.

I would. Both your applications will most likely be linked anyhow if you chose to link them and technically speaking the form asks you to state all your children who will be taking up citizenship with you... My take is it can't hurt.

Hi all,

I currently live in Perth (cbd) and I'm planning to apply for my citizenship on the 26 of April.

I'm already quite sure that I will not be able to attend my ceremony in Perth as I'm planning to move to Melbourne around August/September.

Do you know what I should do in order to don't delay the process too much?

Thank you very much!

At the time of our application we had one child under the age of 16. I included her only in my application. However you can link all the applications together anyway so it doesn't make much difference. (If you are filling out the form, you can state other family members that you wish to attend a ceremony with. That way, everyone in the family is linked)

We all have our ceremony next week.

You won't get an approval email. You'll get a physical letter by snail mail for the approval and then another physical letter from your council with the invite for your ceremony. Usually the approval letter is a couple of days after your appointment unless they are doing extended security checks on you (high risk country, common name, another person with the same name and date of birth...). In that case it can take weeks or several months for HR countries.

Hi Greenman ... what do you say should I ring them asking about security checks ... for few of my friends got the email in couple of days and one direct letter for ceremony without approval email or letter ... would it be wise to wait another 2 weeks as they mentioned

It doesn't matter whether you call or not, the processing takes the time it takes. You can call them if you want to but they won't be any quicker processing it.

That is strange. Probably the approval letter might have gotten lost in post.

hang on. you applied in October last year and still not had your test yet??

I'm in Sydney too - with a notoriously slow council in Waverley - I applied in December and did my test early January, just waiting on my approval now.

a mate in the same council missed his as his letter arrived after the ceremony date itself!! I wont be fully relaxed until I have that passport in my mitts

Actually I'm waiting for the approval letter.

I had my test last January 2016 but I'm so

worried and so much annoyed that until now,

I haven't had my approval letter...my other 2

members in the family got their approval a week after the

test...

Their main reason for the delay was waiting for the

result of the police checks....really? It's ridiculous...for

three months they haven't sorted it out????

so frustrating in my part....
