Does the difference between individual acts of violence by deranged believers in a particular religion and the totalitarian mindset of someone who has his finger potentially on a nuclear armoury and seems to agree with the warped views of another religion, Christianity, which has been involved in a multitude of atrocities down the years, and seems to be provoking a showdown in order to plunge the world into war.

What the same facts Trump uses.

Simply refusing to achnowledge is blinkering not debating. Did you read my second link? This was one of the largest surveys ever carried out of Muslims in the UK. If you don't find it deeply worrying then that would be shocking.

I dont agree with Trump, but, it isn't unreasonable to say we are having a 3 month halt while we check we are not at risk from the horror of France.

Again I'd say that was a serious Islamaphobic, misogynistic and anti liberal rant

Not one mention of anybody's religion or race whatsoever, learn to read properly.

These childish people who cant accept democracy can protest and petition all they like, they are only a minority after all, and they aren't going to change anything.

However, violence is violence and there is no excuse for it.

Physically assaulting people just because they have different political or religious views is inexcusable.

Violent thugs belong in jail whether they are lefties or righties or whatever religion they happen to be.

Lets hope they crack down on those responsible.

It may be all of those things ,but the main thing is ,it is FACT .

Not hearsay or fake news .

What happened in Rotherham ....happened

Anything to add ...any defence ..any excuses ...any reasons ?

All some people know is to try to shut down arguments by name calling using the same old typical phrases ...Racist, Bigot, Xenophobe ....Oh and the new word they have learned to spell - Misogynist.

All these protests are actually great news for Donald trump

Why ? Whilst people protest and sign petitions ,ordinary people sit at home and shake their heads .

His supporter base is probably quietly growing .

There is evidence for this in the u.s already

KEEP PROTESTING ...KEEP MAKING THE NEWS

Iam sure trump will be shitting himself now ?.

Funny you should say that but Trump is heavily into numbers and any suggestion that he might be unpopular. He is obsessed by crowd sizes at his inauguration claiming that they are the highest ever when there is ample evidence to the contrary. The Womens Marches protesting him attracted millions which has clearly wound him up.

He is also so obsessed about losing the popular vote that he keeps insisting that the democrats initiated 3-5 million illegal votes (mainly from illegal immigrants in safe Democrat states like California). He is directing an investigation of electoral fraud to uncover 'the truth' of this despite the obvious point that he won the election regardless and so if an investigation found that there was widespread fraud it would doubtless de-legitimise the election.

Any investigation should focus on marginal states but Trump wants to focus only on States that Clinton won.

The petition itself will not influence May but sure as hell it will get publicity in the USA and will bug Trump for sure. The actual number of petitioners will matter to Trump, make no mistake. Only a matter of time before he questions the legitimacy of the petition or that that the petition is rigged or false.

Trump is seiously deluded and mentally ill.

Well we have our little coterie of rightwingers doing what they do best, bullying, denigrating and intimidating.

Get on with it you're welcome to Trumps world.

Its not a matter of left or right. At least it shouldn't be. A president was elected on a set of policies. Not everyone agreed with them, but that is what has happened. But a minority are spitting their dummy if he attempts to do the things he was elected to do. It is utterly pathetic.

You yourslef have argued against globalisation - and I agree with you there, yet he is the only major leader doing anything against it. The rest are adamant that they want more of it. He has been elected not to protect or benefit the world at large. He has been elected to protect and serve the people of the USA.

None of those countries have a nuclear arsenal capable of destroying the world a few times over and few people see them as a tourist destination of choice.

As I have said on numerous occasions the USA only became involved in two WW's when their interests and citizens were attacked, never voluntarily and the UK was crippled by war debt repayments which the USA insisted were repaid

you really need to brush on your history WW1 europe was a basket case why should america get involved? it was only because mexico was offered land to join germany in thw war that the usa retaliated....and why should they intervene in WW2?, THEY WERE SUPPLYING the UK with weapons etc but the will of the people did not want america to get involved. Pearl harbour changed that...why has europe not helped the USA in vietnam thailand etc?

If you are at all interested in how these things work please research how the Nazis started out. They did not set up concentration camps from day one. They first had to create an atmosphere of fear and distrust which they could escalate to loathing and hatred.

Trump's key supporters already hate Muslims, hispanics, LGBT, etc but the far right need at least acquiescence from the majority before they can move forward. This ban is essentially dipping their toe in the water. Already commentators and politicians have gone from saying the water is freezing to its alright once your in.

This is how it starts. We have seen it before and we have seen how it can end.
