Cherries
As the question States, will I be able to do a car boot sale over there ???
Marisawright
I've seen car boot sales in Sydney, I don't know whether they happen elsewhere. Australia is a huge place and customs and habits vary a lot from state to state.

amibovered
They call them "Trash and Treasure" in Victoria, may be the same in other States and Territories.
srg73
There's a market/boot fair in Rocklea Mr Brisbane. We are likely to gather some stuff together and have a go otherwise down to the local Salvo's. People tend to donate rather than sell their 2nd goods. HelensvaleHoward
Garage sales Advertised in the local paper and signs out to say where they're happening Seems pretty common here
Guest
They have them here but not really anything like such a big deal as in the UK. Or as many. Often I find going to the local markets there are some car booters alongside the professional stalls. Or school fairs have some, that sort of thing. Garage sales are far more common place round here. Every weekend Saturday and Sunday morning there are always signs out, ads in the local paper and on gumtree for them. We usually nip along to the ones that catch our eye or that list selling everything. Sell it out of your front yard, no hassles. I am amazed at the crap people want to sell though. Donating here does happen but by and large, the people of Adelaide try to get a $ for anything, even if its broken
Lambethlad
There should be a Facebook "Buy, Swap and Sell" page for your area. My daughter sells and buys heaps of stuff from hers. I'm amazed at the junk she sells, what I would just throw out she makes money from.
starlight7
Local papers, usually free, advertise them for the following Sat and Sunday- there are loads of them, especially running up to Christmas.
jumpingjellybean
As the question States, will I be able to do a car boot sale over there ??? I cannot speak for the rest of Australia; as have no idea. I have occasionally seen them in Sydney. But they are not very popular. Seem to happen annually; rather than every weekend like the UK Garage sales on the other hand are extremely popular. http://www.localmarketguide.com.au/markets/pre-loved http://www.carbootsale.org.au/stallholder-info/.aspx http://www.weekendnotes.com/sydney/car-boot-sales/ http://www.narrabeenhighcarboot.org/
Quoll
Trash and Treaure markets can usually be found. Check the local papers for a list of garage sales at weekends or check out Freecycle for your area, there's quite a bit of action on there.
