Hey Wattsy, you've got your negative thread. Why don't you let this one be positive.

I was actually joking, it was a positive thing for her.....in a sad way.

I can now see how the 'living the dream' comment may have made it look negative

So a happy positive thread hijacked yet again. Please negative posters go away and Watsy you posted on your thread a warning to posters not to post anything but anti Oz thoughts and here you are negative on a positive Oz thread.

Hey, Now hang on a minute here please.

My first comment on here was listing what I liked about Aus, in keeping with the thread.

Then the cretin insulted me to which i naturally defended myself.

Then the comment about the washing was an actual legit comment and since I have now also commented how i can see it looked sarcastic

Hello all, sorry some of you may see your posts are gone, sorry had to do a major tidy up and some of them contained quotes to the deleted posts.

Keep up the positives...it's a great thread !!

Cheers

Karen

The skies:

Often clear blue during the day, or with amazing cloud formations.

Fabulous sunsets - beautiful red streaked skies.

The night sky too is beautiful, I regularly look at it and see shooting stars.

The weather: days of sunshine but interspersed with heavy downpours of rain, which keeps everything green here in NSW.

Being able to sit and socialise outside in the evenings.

Amazing wildlife - parrots, lizards, possums, kangaroos, even the spiders!

Gorgeous, sandy beaches.

Welcoming people.

Beautiful NSW countryside and lots of great places to go camping, for minimal cost.

Sydney's harbour

Fantastic vineyards and good, affordable wine.

Trees that are green all year round.

Houses with separate laundry rooms, plus being able to hang washing out all year. Makes life easier.

Well observed speed limits in school zones.

After all my travels in last ten years things I appreciate about oz when I was away

laid back approach to life.

Coastal lifestyle and water sports

open spaces

weather for lifestyle

really learned to appreciate quality of red meat, seafood and in season fruit.

being a tradesman , I believe we are in a better place in society here. I see a lot of poms on here quick to call a lot of Aussies bogans, most of us are tradies not bogans. We drive work utes , were boardies, thongs after work and we get paid well to do the hard work most wouldn't last 5 minutes doing. We don't have our nose ten feet up our own arses and seem to be appreciated by our fellow folk here in oz.

Uncrowded beaches

the fishing, diving , camping that's on offer

multiculturalism working better here than anywhere I've been in my travels.

Casual dress sense. Walking out the house in my boardies and a pair of thongs.

The positive attitude of Aussies towards Australia from being such a small( newly developed) country and over my generation we have watched the country form into something which most of us take pride in.

Really should start toughing up on immigration though from Britian after reading some of the #### I've read on here this morning.

Agree. The number of hopeless British migrants turning up is increasing out of all proportion.

Only seem to get low quality pommies these days. Maybe they could try NZ instead?

The scent of gumtrees.

Several beautiful beaches a few minutes drive away.

Cars that run on LPG with it available at almost all service stations.

The crazy laugh of the Kookaburras.

Rosellas and Lorikeets in the garden.

Tree ferns.

Compulsory superannuation.

Melbourne trams.

The weather.

Free use BBQ's in nearly all parks.

I could go on and on, but these are just a few of the things that I love about Australia.
