TristanH
I am now engaged to my australian partner, as of 1st July I made a picnic and did it at Clumber Park if you've ever heard of it. ( http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/clumber-park/ ) Anyway, now to get that Prospective Marriage Visa sorted..

lebourvellec
Congratulations You should run your case past a Registered Migration Agent - as there may be a better option for you than a PMV. As are you eligible for a Partner visa, or go on WHV and apply for Partner visa onshore.

TristanH
Thank you everyone. Congratulations You should run your case past a Registered Migration Agent - as there may be a better option for you than a PMV. As are you eligible for a Partner visa, or go on WHV and apply for Partner visa onshore. We have looked at a WHV but we thought that we'd rather just go for the (in our minds) simplest option of just going down the PVM route, without having to get a job sorted first before we can apply for a visa for me. As far as I'm aware we aren't eligible for the partner visa.
