Have you been requested to do a pedical for your 457 visa? As only certian occupations require a medical.

Unless the employer is going to refund medical cost - you will need to pay for them yourself - which is around £300 adult - £100 child (with xray will cost more).

Hi, we are currently in the process of arranging a medical. Has anyone had experience with any mcr doctors good or bad? Any recommendations? Also we are goin on a 457 do we have to pay for meds ourselves? Thanks

Hi

just being cheeky and hoping you will get some useful replies as we also have to book our medicals and Manchester is the closest. Unfortunately we have to pay ourselves (family of 5!!). We need to have them done in the next two weeks - any useful advice please?

Hello

We had our medicals done in Manchester last August. 2 adults and 3 children which cost us just under £1,000. The doctor was fantastic and very good at what he does he was very thorough but made us feel very relaxed we had X rays down stairs in between the examinations/questions so it didnt take long at all about 90 mins in total and he was very good with the children we would highly recomend him.

Hope this helps

I used Dr Brendon Smith at 11 St John Street, Manchester, very pleasant fellow. Pretty simple test, can you see, can you hear, can you cough, does your heart tick over - job done.

I think it was just over £200 for the examination and x-ray for a single adult.

All very straight forward and easily done, took three quarters of an hour and they sent the results directly to DIAC.

Hi

Yes I need a medical my partner and children dont but I do due to my complex health matters :err:. Ive booked with medmigration for thursday, a Dr Million, £260, dont think I need an x ray tho.

Im resigning myself to the fact he may request further specialist reports. Keeping everything crossed. Hate waiting!

Good luck to everyone in the same boat!

Dr Million is fantastic and down to earth ......we had him , my MIL had him and they used to work together ......i was worried to death at the time as i was a heavy smoker .....i phoned the next day for my results and they told me over the phone that all was fine ,thats when reality kicked in as i really thought we /i would fall at the last hurdle .........

We used medmigration and they were lovely, fitted us in next day and very much put us a ease. The dr we had used to be based at john street in deansgate- he remembered doing my medical in 2006 but said they had moved as needed to upgrade their premises!

Myself, hubby and baby. He told us there and then that he would pass us on medicals just needed results of bloods and xrays - which were on diac system 2 days later. Really nice as i was worried about my weight(being 7 weeks post baby!) and husband was worried about BP. Cant recommend them enough! just book an appt out of rush hour, they're on the main route into manc - our appt was 0920 and took us an hour and a half longer than usual to get to manchester!

Dr B smith Manchesrter, nice bloke, we had full meds done here, straight forward, good luck guys

Yeah, very nice bloke. He gave me a "10 out of 10" on the spot. I think that he was being generous actually. I'd have given myself 9 and a half!
