  1. As long as you are not claiming points for him you should be fine - but obviously I have not seen all the details.
  2. There are too many moving parts here to properly discuss this in a forum post.
  3. For an RRV application, you need to make a separate BV application.
  4. Everywhere other than metro Brisbane … so even the Gold Coast is ‘regional’.
  5. To be fair to my lower rent colleagues, there were plenty of invites at 65 points in teaching professions at the last 189 invitation round in May.
  6. There hasn’t been a 189 invitation round since then. Have you also included a 190 in your EOI, as that would make sense.
  7. Yes … but it’s not a blanket waiver, it just lowers the bar.
  8. Some of the medical questions are phrased “have you ever…?”, others are “do you have …?” - it’s pretty clear which ones require full disclosure of any previous condition/issues.
  9. You should look at an RRV before starting a whole new 189 application.
  10. Ok … in this context: Former Australian Permanent Resident = former holder of a permanent visa.
  11. In this context: Australian Permanent Resident = holder of a permanent visa
  12. I’d recommend getting some professional help with this to ensure that you address all the requirements.
  13. It’s $465 to apply and unless he does, he’ll never know. It might be a long shot, but if his job offer is solid (and can be made more permanent) then I would certainly give it a shot. Compelling circumstances may be explainable as he was a minor, but quite a lot of time has passed since then.
  14. The rationale is that medicals and police checks ‘expire’ after a year. Prior to Covid the first entry date was 12 months after the date of the earlier of these checks. They changed this to a blanket 12 months from grant during Covid and haven’t changed it back. Until you make a first entry to Australia on a visa you are open to it being cancelled if your circumstances change in a way that would have precluded the original grant (e.g. medical reasons).
  15. Which is a “yes” to the cancer question then. They will decide whether it is of concern to them.
  16. Another question is: ” Do you suffer, or have you ever suffered, from mental health problems?”
  17. Witopia are good and have specific US streaming VPN connections.
  18. https://www.streamlocator.com Is also a good solution.
  19. Your question was phrased as if it were and because these proposed changes are only a statement of intent, there is no legislation published and therefore there is no firm answer to your question. In current legislation, there are no residence requirements for family members of 482 holders.
  20. Most likely, if he doesn’t have an Australian passport. At the end of the day as an Australian citizen he can’t be denied entry to Australia, but you will have to convince the airline to take him on an undocumented uplift. Better to sort out the passport.
  21. There is no guaranteed pathway to PR after 2 years on a 482 visa.
  22. Then how have you managed to renew your British passport? It’s a question on the application.
  23. The only difference is that a VEVO check will show you as ‘onshore’. Don’t overthink it ; -)
  24. Pretty sure I answered this on another forum yesterday … If you get married before your 300 is granted, then you are deemed to have applied for a subclass 309 partner visa. Whether you need to manually withdraw the 300 application or it’s done for you will depend on the processing office. People’s mileage varies on this. There’s no specific time ‘limit’ but you should do it asap. You can apply for a visitor visa, but again, there are no guaranteed outcomes.
  25. You did well on the RRV(s). Out of interest, what visas did you get for the children?
