  1. Are you sure you are signed in on your computer? You can’t reply without being signed in..
  2. Don’t panic. I remember that this time last year they were being processed really quickly too. I think they just try and clear the backlog before the Christmas break. They would have asked for more evidence if they needed it. Sounds like you did everything right.
  3. We are not in Australia and don’t have our visa yet so our newborn needs to complete a medical.
  4. Thanks for your reply. That’s what I thought but they are so slow to respond that I was starting to second guess myself. It’s almost been a month.
  5. Our newborn was added to our 189 application after submission. However the CO failed to add the newborn to the medicals page and has not sent a request for the newborn medical with HAP ID. We emailed to request the HAP ID and presumably we just have to wait now, or am I missing something? Would like to get them booked up so we can move forward with our visa! Thanks
  6. No one can tell you what's best for you but I can give my opinion on the having fun at uni thing. I studied at Curtin University for a year as a year abroad from my UK university and there are a number of different clubs and activities to get involved with. I never felt bored and made lots of good friends both international student and Australians, many of which I am still in touch with 10 years later! You may consider doing the year abroad the other way around so you get to experience uni in the UK too. Good luck for whatever you decide ?

    Thai Airways

Have flown with Thai airlines a few time, most recently last summer. Always impressed with the service. Bangkok airport is great but I don't think I have ever had a short changeover as I prefer to have a few days in Bangkok. I wouldn't be worried about it though as the airport is well organised in my experience.
  8. Yes just keep visiting the SkillSelect website. ? They are pretty poor at updating the info in a timely manner but it gives you an idea. Send me a message if you want to know another website where you can track the invites of people applying (not allowed to advertise other forums on here).
  9. Here is a link to SkillSelect which shows you the results from previous rounds including how many points the invited people had. https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/WorkinginAustralia/Pages/23-may-2018-invitation-round.aspx
  10. Have you already had your medical? If not you won't be able to have the X-ray whilst pregnant so they should put your application on hold until your child is born, when you and baby can have the medical. I believe it is free to add your baby at this stage. From what I've read this is fairly straight forward but a bit of a lenghty process. If they make a decision before you have the baby then I think it is called a Child Visa 101(?) which you have to pay for. I am no expert though so happy to be corrected by someone more knowledgeable. Congratuations on your pregnancy
  11. We only use washable wipes for our toddler but they are so much better than baby wipes for cleaning him up! Mind you we also use cloth nappies so it's not really an issue with the washing as we are already doing a separate wash for those.
  12. I was going to say the same thing. To test if the ones you buy really are flushable, put one in your washing machine and see if it degrades after a normal cycle. If not then it shouldn't go down the toilet as it will be getting stuck somewhere! You could use washable wipes as an alternative. Not everyone's cup of tea but cheaper and more environmentally friendly than wipes.
  13. This is what they asked for: "Your application requires the following supporting evidence to enable AITSL complete your assessment: Statement from the University detailing the supervised teaching practice you completed as part of the Postgraduate Certificate in Education AITSL acknowledges that your application did include information about the PGCE program however it did not include specific information about what you were required to do in order to meet the supervised teaching practice requirements of the qualification. Please refer to your application and guide for further information about evidence of supervised teaching practice. Digital copies sent by email will not be accepted." So if you are in the process of submitting your application make sure that the number of supervised teaching days is explicitly referred to. I thought we had covered it with the course summary detailing the 120 days of school- based training days and a letter stating the age ranges and the schools in which it took place. However, in hindsight it is not specifically stating the number of SUPERVISED days. Hope this helps you to avoid the mistake we made
  14. Thanks Richard. We received notification that they had the additional evidence on the 19th December (even though the courier delivered it on the 3rd) and had an email this morning to say the application was complete. Thankfully not an extra 10 weeks after all
  15. Thanks for your reply, hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer then
  16. We were asked for additional evidence to support our AITSL assessment which we have now sent. I am wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and whether the 10 week assessment time restarted? Thanks
  17. I recently posted a letter to Australia and it took almost 4 weeks so there is a chance you will be back in the UK before the parcel arrives!
  18. Out of interest, what would happen if your job was removed from the skills list during this time? Would your application still be honoured or would you receive a refund?
  19. We're not fussed about being in Perth so will head wherever the jobs are! How have you found teaching in WA compared to the UK?
  20. Thanks for the update, it's always good to read a positive story especially as we are planning on moving to WA.
  21. Fingers crossed if that happens it will be after we all have our visas Good luck with the application.
  22. We are looking at moving in 2019 as well, feel free to message me if you have any other questions. All teachers might be taken off or just primary??
  23. You send a copy of your academic transcript and letter from the university detailing the course for the year you completed it so it won't matter what it says on the website.
  24. Have you tried sending an email to AITSL? I personally think from what you have said that your qualification meets the criteria but I understand why you want some more reassurance as it's an expensive gamble if you are not 100% sure.
