  1. You still apply for the 457 visa.. after march it will be called Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa subclass 754 (Jokes) Seems like originally Turnbull said replaced with two new visas, but now it seems it just one visa with two durations depending on what list your skill is on?
  2. According to the website: http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/457-#tab-content-0 They will be given the duration dependant on what list the occupation is on. SUCKS EDIT: Again it doesn't specify if this is only if the visa was lodged after today...
  3. This is only going on what I have been advised so far.. Providing the occupation has not been removed from the new lists then the will progress as normal, however from what I have read its not clear if they will be able to apply for PR as they do now. If the occupations have been removed I have been advised they will need to withdraw the application. Only time will tell.
  4. Thanks. Ill stop going on about myself now and let this post go back on topic. ;-) Thanks for the positive comments. Life sometimes doesn't plan out the way we hoped. ;-)
  5. Thanks appreciate your kind words. If any MA is reading this and you have any experience with visa's that are not the norm, for example as per my case regarding a new born child, BVE and ministerial intervention, please feel free to send me a PM. I just have given up looking for and calling into local Perth based MA's that have no idea!!!!
  6. I am the father, The mother is the Australian. I will await a reply from my CO regarding my current visa application and then with this move forward and get some professional advice. let's see what the rest of the week brings.
  7. Well I hope something works out, I have no parents or grand parents, all passed away. back in the UK, I have no other family apart from one brother, So really I have more close family here than back home, So I had a plan, 457->2year->ENS ->PR now with the new visa my occupation hasn't been removed but is the lower skilled one so PR is not able to be applied for. I am a little frustrated as they done external checks and took 8 months, I mean 8 months to request more info on my previous work history, now I could be back to square 1 .. I have a feeling it's gonna be a long and messy process if my application is withdrawn.
  8. We recently separated after 2 years, We get on very very well and have a great relationship and text all the time and maybe things may work out but currently do not quality as we now live separately.
  9. I think if my visa application is withdrawn, I will be applying for a BVE and ministerial intervention due to my new born baby being Australian Citizen.. I wonder how that would work lol.. Oh bring on the fun, stressful times please.
  10. Who is affected? Current 457 visa applicants and holders, prospective applicants, businesses sponsoring skilled migrants and industry. Existing 457 visas will continue to remain in effect. 457 visa applicants that had lodged their application on or before 18 April 2017, and whose application had not yet been decided, with an occupation that has been removed from the STSOL, may be eligible for a refund of their visa application fee. Nominating businesses for these applications may also be eligible for a refund of related fees.
  11. No Migration agent would take on my case, maybe this is a god send as potentially I could re-submit a new application. I dont know if my boss could be arsed doing the nomination again though..
  12. So if the visa process is "in progess" rather than received does this make a difference? do we still need to withdraw and refund, and can we re-apply if we are currently on a bridging visa? And will the company have to make another nomination? I can't believe they can just implement changes without any thought, I have been going back and forth with my CO for nearly a year regarding my application and suddenly I now have to withdraw my visa?

    Hi guys : )

Remember being boyfriend and girlfriend isn't the same as being in a defacto relationship. They are looking at joint bank statements, joint rental agreements, joint life insurance, sharing the cost of living such as bills etc.
  14. Buy the fluffy refill concentrate and only mix half the water it suggests.. makes mine smell good however it might be a bit dodgy dooing this for a top loader
  15. Ok, I totally have mis-understood what that meant. I thought it meant if the sponsor i,e new born baby (So in return the mother of the child) this would be the cost. Thanks for clearing that up. ;-) Just one more question, Is there any visa or way of securing a temp or perm visa for a new-born child, My family balance would be fine as I will only have a new born here in Australia, however me and the mother are not in a relationship anymore. I understand the old "just because you knocked someone up" doesn't mean you get a visa, the mother is Australian so the baby when born will be a Aus Citizen, I am British. I am currently applying for a 457, however I am pretty sure it will be declined on not sufficient experience. I just don't think i could afford the 60k visa fee and AOS. Any other advice would be very much appreciated.
  16. Hi, Its seems that the Cost involved in a Contributory Parent Visa Differs from A Contributory Parent Visa - New Born Child. Even on the Visa wizard on Immi states a different application charge. For example: 19k The second instalment (payable before grant of visa): Applicant who: was less than 18 at the time of application; and is a dependent child of an applicant for a Contributory Parent (Temporary) (Class UT) visa: $2095 [*]Applicant who Applicant who is a contributory parent newborn child: nil [*]Any other applicant: $29 130 I mean there is a big difference between nil and $29000 bucks. If anyone can confirm if there is a huge difference in cost for a new born or am I totally reading this wrong? Thanks Sam
  17. I second the 001144 7x from past exp seems to be the most reliable for mobile numbers. Just make sure you have roaming on it so you can get a signal and receive calls.
  18. Perth you will be fine. I am private renting direct with the landlord and they are both so nice, they knew I was on a temporary visa and still let me stay, young single male so estate agents aside, renting direct with the landlord could be an easier way for you. Also negotiate on the rent too. Can easily save between 20 and 100 bucks a week..
  19. I also have not heard anything and have emailed for priority assistance for a couple of reasons. Mainly I cannot use my health insurance until the 457 is granted and my 6 month limitation is up soon. I am sure they will not even reply lol its been 100 working days since RFI.
  20. Then i read " The nomination must identify an occupation (for the position) that has the same four-digit occupation unit group code as the 457 approved occupation. So now i know why you are confused lol.
  21. After having a little read, I think that the roles would be different, I mean I am sure you could get another 457 but the actual anssco is slightly different, 511111 compared to 511112 its a different job and my own thoughts would be that it wouldn't qualify for ENS ... I may be totally wrong but thats my 2 cents P.S What a pain in ya ass that its 2 years in april.. That sucks.
  22. I'd do what ever it takes to activate the visa. Borrow, Beg or Steel ;-)
  23. Àre you coming on a British Passport? if so 1) Melbourne or Sydney are gonna be the places with the most possibilities, however other states have a reasonable demand for a good network tech. 2) Not sure where you have read the 3 month rule, never heard of that. Its 6 months. 3 Months regional work in a specified industry will allow you to extend your visa for another year. 3) If you secured a job as a network tech and have a good amount of exp in different areas, I would say it would be likely the company could offer a longer visa such as a 457 and then on possibly sponsor you as on a more permanent visa. This is all just if and maybe.. come to aus give it a try and see what happens ;-)
