  1. Hi feeling bit lonesome with all these 2014 Perthsiders making social plans - I am planning to visit my sister who lives in Serpentine this Sept so could a wee drinkie slot be co-ordinated around then as love to catch up - I want to see that @HARLEYDPHIL fat boy parked up gleaming (I don't like it when they roar away) and @Dolphin1962 finning her way to the bar for a round and of course @Geordie Joe in full stalking gear still trying to spot the lesser spotted 'you know who' Kim
  2. Question for @HARLEYDPHIL - sorry I know been asked lots. I am bewildered - as a CPV applicant I should be used to that by now but am more so than usual. You gave your form 80 when lodged application so now it is 2 years out of date - clearly not queried as you HAVE PR. As peps on here have been completing at various times so is immi happy to accept form 80 current as to anytime during waiting period Kim
  3. COME ON @joop it's been a week nearly and looks as if not even moved to 30th - make my day and say you have a CO - no pressure but it's my birthday next Tuesday and guess what I want as my present sadly Immi tends to giveth and then they taketh much Kim
  4. Hi i am intrigued. I went straight to mine as only had our Medicals one day before you. As ours was done in Oz we were told all results in within 48 hours then sent to immi so curious as to why you were told would not complete until 3 weeks later. And also curious like you as to what 'awaiting grading' - is it like school A+ or C- Kim
  5. Hi. if parents are over 70 I think you want to aged contributory parent visa - sorry don't know visa no. That visa is quicker I believe than 143/173 Kim
  6. Amazing - over please let me get your CO please please please Kim
  7. Question - after Joop on 30 April am I really the next one on 23 May or is there someone between - trying to see good omen there as to might have been quiet time and immi will push through - ok ever the dreamer Kim
  8. I read somewhere that immi is very fussy to ensure sponsor pays it and even went to extent of requesting bank statements to check money had not been transferred by parents to the sponsor so beware! Kim
  9. My SOH is IT savvy and he couldn't get form to do as it was 'told' so we went for the old fashion way, printed it out and used a quill - quite therapeutic. Then scanned and saved as jpg ready to send when requested. I roughly trotted up time spent on damn form x 3 as had to do one for our son as well - 7 x 8 hour days it took me approx and they will get it whether they request it or not after all the hard work. Kim
  10. Hi - totally cool idea - I have been in Sydney for nearly 3 years and fortunately have good network of family - mostly younger and we have realised our social life consists mainly of babysitting and doing 'mum/dad jobs' but also I think our fear of being turned down for visa has prompted us to focus on existing uk friends and not expand friends circle here. Love to catch up with 2014ers as we have been through a lot together Kim
  11. I agree with you Linda - certain amount of 'laid back' attitude especially with tradesmen! They seem to have a totally different array of terms like 'bundles' relating to Internet/phone - I still am bewildered with the different names they use for stuff Kim
  12. Luckily my daughter was not married at time so still had our surname - my husband is Allan and she is Allanna so I just used her name and signed A Skeels on all forms!!! We were never asked for proof as to who's stuff but used her address as initial delivery in oz and changed just before received stuff to our address Kim
  13. Whoop whoop finally when did your agent actually hear as couldn't have been over weekend. Through the doors you go - so pleased for you Kim
  14. Hi @Fisher1 for the non precious photos you can always include with shipment as weight doesn't matter - just size so I ensured all drawers etc were packed with stuff to minimise room it takes up - I remember having 'discussions' with shippers who tried to leave things empty as so to increase shipping space - well actually I just stood over them saying 'can't you put something in that' and after numerous times they found it quicker to do as I asked rather than argue with me!!! - reckon I saved loads in space we finally ended up having to pay for. I also packed rooms up into cube shapes which I measured and checked against final figure - again bit of negotiation as felt they were over actual size I was expecting. I am sure they called me a few names after but hay hoo Kim
  15. Hi. We had same dilemma. We have stored a load of photos on cloud ie Dropbox or on drive - best to pay for service to get enough storage space unless only small number of photos. There are loads of cloud storage being offered so worth checking some out. My sister sent her photos away along with all formats of video/movies to be loaded onto CDs but quite expensive. I also compiled a number of photo books - blurb etc do brill styles which are lovely for the coffee table. As I love my original photos especially old family photos I was advised to get some good solid fire retardant metal boxes - WHSmith was good place in which to keep photos due to greater fire risk here - we tend to leave our 'tins' with each other when on holiday in case of fire whilst away. Hope that helps Kim
  16. Lets hope your agent has heard - let us know. Maybe it's your turn to be the file holding up that wobbly desk!!! Please don't let my file be in line for the job Kim
  17. Immi moved to 29 April - whoop whoop nearly 2 weeks in a short week. So @HARLEYDPHIL they should have got to you Kim
  18. I just wish my posterior didn't look so big in these shorts I have to wear when hurdling Kim
  19. Border Control dept now on week long rolling strikes from today so no telling how this will affect progress of our visas Kim
  20. For all those midst or starting logistics of moving - the most comforting I can offer - it was hell but worth it - I had list of the lists I needed to keep - hubbie and I had 'weekly meetings' to coordinate and we ended up living apart for nearly 3 months, me here and him at home in Uk, as I was the vanguard and he the rear end brigade finally arriving day before Xmas 2012/13 only to find our second daughter's PR delayed so we could not apply for parents visa until 18 months later then only to find waiting list slip over 7 months of original 16 months quoted at time - nightmare but did it and nearly there Kim
  21. Apparently you don't get to see results despite fact you paid for it and it's about you! Results are looked at by immi and they use it to scale how much you are likely to cost in terms of health care. I believe only a positive HIV result or if you will require an organ transplant will fail you otherwise any conditions are measured on a scale as to total cost and supposed if too great would fail you, however, have no idea of details regarding this. Apparently if immi can't make a judgement it is referred to some sort of medical office at more cost to you of course Kim
