  1. Hi Fisher. My form 80 is a minefield. My father had a propensity for getting married - 4 times that I'm aware of and have raft of 1/2 siblings - two called Dean - apparently he liked the name! Kim
  2. Joop I'm liking your 'outside the box thinking'. With lodgement 23 May and no agent I definitely didn't get HAP no and I believe Dolphin 1962 who is 23 June didn't either. In this scenario then Dolphin hits CO with no pre warning for AOS which is extremely hard to organise in 28 days whilst I as a 173 would have breezed in dished my dosh and scarpered for Grant as no AOS. Be some very unhappy bunnies me thinks. Or my third argument is that immi has absolutely no idea what they are doing - I am just playing devils advocate - just in case Immi are bored and reading this!!!! Kim
  3. As with all things related with immi I am not sure. As a 173 my understanding is that they keep a strict rotation of dealing in order of date lodged. Therefore, 173 and 143 hit CO at the same time but as no AOS then 173 can nip in front of 143 between CO and Grant. However, as it looks as if new arrangement is going back to the old arrangement!!! Which includes a 28 day deadline from CO to be ready for Grant. Fisher1 has just encountered that little gem of a surprise. The old arrangement has a system of 'pre-calling 143 to say 'go get AOS' which is approx 3 months before immi thinks they will hit CO so then 14/ and 173 are on level field. HarleyPhil had this 'pre-call' - my term for it - but now has been waiting over 3 1/2 months and no CO. However, my understanding is - I think - hopefully correct is that 173 from Nov 15 don't need meds for the 173 as a temporary visa but do when they then convert to 143 as long as their country is on list - UK is - and have not been given a HAP no yet. Anyone more knowledgable on this please jump in if got anything wrong. Hope that helps. Kim
  4. I actually don't think I could go anywhere unless fully internet connected Etc. I have iPad and I phone in case one battery dies on me - I am with Julie1499 - I don't think I have ever been this stressed in my entire life and the lack of 'knowing' what's happening is all consuming - only saving grace is being here in Sydney with my two adorable but very cheeky grandchildren Kim
  5. "Don't panic Mr Mannering" Friends were in similar situation and they were told "only for the last 12 months" and the other country they resided in wasn't needed as 3 years previously. I totally sympathise - we moved to Australia early and have just done both oz and uk in anticipation of getting CO in next couple of months!! Just to cover bases but we have technically 'resided' in both so sure will be asked for both. Hope that helps Kim
  6. Hi Gogirl1. We have had to jump through hoops a few times because we came out early - mainly to let our then 16 year finish school here. Still have no regrets. At least you are aware of likely 2 year wait. When we applied 18 months seemed the longest then. Seems like an eternity ago now when we came out and honestly feel for those waiting in uk etc as don't think I could have done it especially if could not have been here with the birth of a prem grandson 6 months and my daughter's pregnancy problems. Only downside is being here I think you then truly feel the fear of being turned down as thought of having to return to uk now terrifies me with regular nightmares. We haven't visited Canberra yet and sounds lovely road trip from Sydney so will wave when we get there and know you will be enjoying. Good luck with telling family - lots of hankies Kim
  7. Hi guys. Immi now in routine of releasing new update on Thursday. I reckon 'dress down' day been introduced in immi for Friday's but appears parents visa dept think Friday is 'pens down' day as they misheard hence they change from Friday to Thursday for updates Kim
  8. Hi RoyG. Well thanks for that and really interesting to see disparity in dates and Info given. We had to send new passport details to update our application recently and we cheekily asked if we could be given some ballpark idea of when we might get case officer and the answer was "no". Short and not so sweet - must have taken up sooooo much time writing that answer!!!! Kim
  9. With less than 4 hours before flight back and I still had no visitor visa we managed to speak to visa dept in Auckland and they said pay a travel agent to get an ETA do we googled nearest travel agent and 5 minutes and $30 cost I had an ETA approved. Never knew you could do that as always apply for electronic e-visa on line so thought I would share in case useful to anyone. Back 'home ' in Sydney and got 3 months before we have to leave again so come on immi be nice to me please - some good news with this weeks test update for starters Kim
  10. Thanks Linda. Nerves a bit frazzled to say the least. Luckily Allan got rellies here who will pitch in but thought of two or more months here alone is scary and costly! Wifi patchy but will update when I can Kim
  11. Hi all. We flew to out of Australia NZ after our temp visa ran out at end of Jan. My husband has been granted an electronic visa to return for a further max 3 month stay where hopefully we will be given CO within that time. I however bizarrely haven't got one after couple days delay and no response. We are due to fly in less than 24 hours so looks like he's going back and I might be here until they return when we are ready to be granted. Fingers crossed folks they show me some sympathy and not leave me here alone Kim
  12. Hi we didn't receive our Hap no when lodged 23 May nor did HarleyPhil who lodged 23 April. We know Joop did get hap no who lodged 30 April. Could I ask did you get hap no with acknowledgement letter or a few months ago? Thanks for input as every bit of info helps others around us in the same parent visa boat Kim
  13. Before you go down route of parent visa just have a look at remaining relative visa. I know has long wait to actually getting visa but I think if you apply in Australia then get bridging visa to stay so doesn't matter how long waiting is. I could be wrong so check Kim
  14. Hi Bear2015. I am one of the new wave that did not get a HaP no or date to have medical done by. In the 'olden days' 143 were notified approx 3 months before expected to have case officer to go and do their AOS but 173 not asked at this point as no AOS. Then when got to CO both 143 and 173 given Hap no. Then they changed a few years ago that acknowledgement letter of lodging gave hap no and asked meds and AOS done by a year later. This system was stopped round mid April 2014 and we assume reverted to old system as no Hap no given so being in May we didn't get hap no. We know Dolphin1962 who is 9 April did get hap no and HarleyPhil who lodged 23 April didn't get hap no. However HarleyPhil did get notified end of October 2015 with both hap no and asked to sort AOS. So my assumption is we are going back to old system and HarleyPhil should have CO any time now. So we wait - a skill essential as an applicant here to see what happens. After a a long winded start answer is no we haven't had med as not got hap no. Interestingly if you read new health requirement changes implemented nov 2015 I think 173 from now if not received no, are on list which uk is and considered a temp visa which I think it is then we won't be required to fo meds until convert to 143 in 2 years. Anyone see I got something wrong above please jump in and correct me as a mere mortal its nearly impossible to fathom the higher plane thinking of immi!!! Kim
  15. Hi My husband has rellies in Auckland and whanganui so only been to one island so far but loved everything we have seen. Couldn't live there as 'too small' - it feels like you would be living in Isle of Wight but lovely to visit. We are treating ourselves to few nights in Rotorua in experience some mud. If we are refused a visitors visa then we plan to get a camper and explore. Will be nightmare as left 19 year son home alone here in Oz - just the thought of the likely parties is stressful enough and trying to finalise everything else. Optimistic me says will get it then home end of next week and have three months before we have to leave or sooner if get to grant do then back to NZ for that. Kim
  16. Hi. If we are still there let's catch up and gave a bottle or three to drown our stresses - it's beautiful there so worth a visit at some time if not been before Kim
  17. Brill and very interesting list - none for this 'supposed' extra 20% in March yet 5 in April to my lonely 1 in May. Maybe the March crowd are off celebrating still the fact they got in before the price hike - some party! So as a 173 I didn't get a 'pre-call' at end of Nov, a month after yours, and we don't have a 143 for my month to confirm this happened. I am calling 'pre-call' the contact from immi to say do AOS and be given HAP no. Therefore, Julie1499 and Sadge should have received their 'pre-call' end of Dec and a month later and not a peep - I am sure they are 143's. JOOP I am assuming is 173 as should have had pre-call shortly after HarleyPhil. We know HarleyPhil can't have CO until after Harvi13 to keep in order. If I'm correct then this set out our puzzle as to guess our CO date! Kim
  18. Don't be Silly Joe Immi only taketh away never giveth! We are off to NZ on Saturday as our Visa runs out and here's hoping we can sneak an electronic visitor visa in when we get there so we can return for another three months to wait and wait and wait ........or will be waiting in NZ until whenever we are granted some time in dream time land so everyone fingers crossed Kim
  19. Immi just said We are currently assessing for finalization applications lodged up to 7 March 2014. Please note that in March 2014 we received 20% more applications than in any of the previous 9 months so the dates may be slower to change. any slower and we will need the tardis to go back in time Kim
  20. Whoop whoop Dolphin 1962 it won't be long and you will have your hand on that handle ready to fly out the waiting room door with the 'Angel' CO. Then next is Maisie Daisy I believe Kim
  21. My crystal ball says 'no change' coz they are getting over Australia Day - still!!!! Kim
  22. Hi Dolphin 1962 - it's your official stalker here. Did you enjoy Australia Day. Everything crossed for all of us that we have some movement later this week. Will be watching out for you getting any good news Kim
