  1. So am I right in thinking then that anyone paying their 2nd vacs from now have no guarantee of a place before 1st July meaning Immi has a potential of over 2 million dollars worth of bank interest - my maths includes guesstimates - for our money sitting in there account for up to a month and payee doesn't have benefit of their visa. Once 2nd vac paid is there a period of time there must issue grant - I had vague recollection of being 7 working days? Kim
  2. Hi you really have had hard time with Immi not responding to you. I can't answer your question as I am 23 May and they are processing up to 21 May so STILL waiting!! I would be really interested to hear how long they take to acknowledge and of course hoping your mum gets granted soon Kim
  3. My teenage son just said he has learnt some new swear words after my rant today - ooops Kim
  4. @Geordiejoe - We have until end of July on this 3 month visitor visa so let's hope next trip is for grant. Gut wrenching is fact my husband got offered job of a lifetime a few months ago and he took it thinking nearly there. They are starting to hint at ditching him as they can't wait any longer. As thought he had job hasn't persued anything else so will be well out of pocket if has to start again looking for a job.
  5. Thanks @juliew1499. What a roller coaster of a day. To see moved to 21 and my hubbie fired off email asking will we be picked up this week. Just had devastating response saying 'extremely unlikely we will get a place in this years allocation' so no grant until after 1 July even if we got case officer today. Sorry guys behind me to be bearer of bad news. I guess they will keep processing but just not progress to grant.
  6. Thank you so much for alerting me to a new update as now 21 May.
  7. I am feeling the pain of uncertainty for those behind us in June. Immi knew this and common sense should have prevailed in setting this out in the immi update months ago. My angst is that around mid May 2014 a vague directive was made at the highest level that there would be some review/change to parent visa with no reference to timescale or exact nature with the abrupt announcement at end of May to close non contributory. How could this have instigated a months stalling until 6 May 2014 when there had been no indication of what was coming and then an apparent spike continued thereafter. So why this painful crawl of only 1/2 a week every week since then. I can cope with pace if I had reason for it but lack of transparency as to what the position is shameful. With only a month to go until the end of this years allocation it needs only the simplest of calculations to ascertain where the likely cut of point is. I see Roy being granted after only 2 weeks - congrats - meaning they are well underway in completing week of 12 May. It appears everyone behind him is now cleared through so exactly who are they going to give visas to in June? Come on Immi I know for a fact you read this forum - what's wrong with you setting out how the land lies. - we are not idiots we can handle ball park figures which is better than nothing. If you want current and future parent applicants to work with you and show support as to what is likely a difficult job this is for you. However, at the moment your lack of 'sharing' throws doubt as to your genuine agenda here and leaves you open to be accused of lacking in pace and quality.
  8. Immi only moved 2 days up to 16 May. Still 7 days to go until my lodgement
  9. hi. Ditto - good decision - come join the party out here! Re Medicals we had ours done here - actually cheaper and even more so if good exchange rate. We went to Parramatta nsw and were amazingly efficient. Am sure where ever you are heading will be just as good. We have some investment properties and pensions in uk and loving exchange rate - when we came out we had 1.4 - painful. Sat up in bed with my 4 year old granddaughter Cassidy eating cookies and watching Wizard of Oz AGAIN - paradise in paradise for me Kim
  10. @Harvi13 - my husband said check your scanner if been scanning stuff at home - worth a try! I think as you got your grant which will be attached to your current - even if lost passport - and will be automatically transferred to your new one. My daughter lost her passport soon after her gaining PR and she got new one at embassy in America which had her visa grant updated to with no problem. As I assume you are still in India then need to get new passports issued pronto as you will want to activate soonish. Hope that helps Kim
  11. NOOOO will they wait whilst you renew them? OMG you must be frantic Kim
  12. I feel like a carrot has been dangling just in front of our nose for so long now I have forgotten what 'normal life' is and looks like its still going to be just beyond reach for ever Kim
  13. Hi hope you don't mind me jumping in and answering - no there's nothing stopping you at all unless you wanted to use finance in oz then that not likely to get without PR. Kim
  14. Hi we got a response to our email this week - my husband has gone with the 'in your face strategy' and plans to email weekly until case officer. Friends of mine here who work in govt departments were of the opinion that breaking 'service standards' is a big thing and carries consequences for individuals and departments. At present service agreement has max of 2 years and it appears to date immi has tried to avoid straying out of this. Our response today came from a manager. She was very nice and did admit the department is now going to breach service standards and processing is now in excess of 2 years. She wouldn't commit to any timescales. Sorry to be bearer of bad news. Worrying she kindly added an AOS letter for us despite fact we are 173 and don't need it and as a manager really should have know that!! Kim
  15. Well it least I have only 11 days to go which at present rate means at least a couple of months!!
  16. So pleased for you however it's unbelievably that in a whole week they have only got to 12 May from 9th where 10th and 11th was the weekend so no applicants processed then. On top of previous months progress of only 3 days. Words truly fail me.
  17. Massive congrats for @Harvi13. Now come on immi lets gets this ball rolling Kim
  18. Hi. We had to go on bended knee begging for Hap no as didn't get when lodged. Thanks for encouragement - much needed Kim
  19. Hi Crystal. You poor things you must be going stir crazy waiting. I am 23 May and heard nothing yet as to Case Officer. Kim
  20. I like first 2 positives - I consider the third a 'taking the mick' but I am smiling still - mainly due to the bottle I opened earlier Kim
  21. I totally sympathise and appreciate their workload and doubt anyone doesn't on here. However, for me it's their attitude - I can't accept that a few minutes each week updating site with useful going forward as well as what's been achieved info would make a shred of difference to progress times in a negative way and actually believe it would benefit workloads as us folks would be less likely to email asking for info individually. Kim
