  1. Oh I'm so Jealous!! I have until April, that's the earliest I'll be going so a few months yet. My mum is lucky to have to four of us, but us elder two who are in the 'stable adult' relationships won't be around with our kids. My sister is actually moving to NZ with the baby in a few years so I know that's going to be pretty tough on mum, actually getting to know him/her properly and then them not being around at all. My mum lives for us and I feel just that tiny bit selfish to be leaving.
  2. I have this guilt as well. My mum can't wait to be a granny and I always thought I'd have her around me when I have kids. This kills me to think of!
  3. I am extremely close to my parents and my siblings, I have 2 sisters and a brother, and I know I am going to be heartbroken to leave them. We are all grown up and have our own lives, but spend a lot of time with each other. My sister is due the first baby in our family too, so as much as I look at the situation and think that is my saving grace during this visa period, I will be gutted to bond with my new niece/nephew and then be so far away and watch it grow and bond with everyone else through facetime whilst I'm the other side of the world. Saying that though, I cannot wait for the day that our visa is granted and Benn meets me at the arrivals of Perth airport and we can finally start our life together. Being apart from your family is hard work, but being apart from your soul mate is harder.
  4. We've applied for the Prospective Marriage Visa. Only 2 months into our countdown!
  5. Hi AW12, Welcome! What visa did you apply for? Lots of applications from October have been coming back the past week, fingers crossed!
  6. When are you off Croker? I've been looking into flights around April time and they are around £550 one way at the moment which isn't too bad. £420.20 is an absolute bargain!! Good skills
  7. I literally am reading these posts with butterflies, I am so pleased for all of you!
  8. Totally agree. I wish that we could be together but unfortunately, like you, we have things keeping us apart at the moment. We've known each other 16 years, the day I meet him at the airport in Perth knowing that our lives are finally beginning together will be the best day of my life.
  9. Awesome job Pookie!! I'm excited to watch the list change with all our lovely visa offers ;o)
  10. Hi! I'm moving to Perth! It's a hard slog being so far away and I am such a rubbish impatient person, I hate not knowing! Cannot WAIT for the day I can get on a one way flight and never have to say goodbye to Benn again!!
  11. I've just replied to his original email (which says not to reply to, lol) and asked him what I should do. Hoping he will reply asap. Our PMV has only been in for 2 months so we have a long wait ahead of us yet! Yeah I think so, 10-14 months?
  12. Hi Alan, I see you have applied for an ETA. Did you have to contact OH in doing so? I'm off to Aus in 3 weeks for a two week holiday so will need to get an ETA, but don't want it cancelling my PMV app!!!
  13. Hi Laura! Good luck with everything, won't be too much longer now I bet you can't wait!! Where are you moving to?
  14. Guys can someone please tell me what the '100' & 'pookie' things people are talking about are??
  15. Hi QuakerBaker I had the letter yesterday asking me to do my medicals and police checks after Dec 11th 2015, which is 6 months from the lodgement date. However I have done the Medical already a week before we applied for the visa. I think they ask you to wait as you need to have the medical for when you enter Australia, and by next June for me is cutting it very fine. I am redoing them in December.
  16. This might be a silly question but have you looked into the PMV 300, since you are engaged to be married? Only thing is that you have to apply offshore and waiting time is 10-14 months (
