  1. That is strange! I was looking at a forum the other day from a couple of years ago and the waiting time was 3 months. Imagine!!!
  2. I was wondering the same about the timings between the 300 and the Partner visas, although I have seen that someone who is doing a partner visa has the same case officer as us so I'm not sure if that's the case? I know that both visa's are being given the same wait of 10-14 months at the moment.
  3. Hi Tracy, You have to create an immi account to get a hap id. I did this last November, 7 months before actually submitting my visa application and having my medical. You can do it now to generate the hap id but like someone else suggested above, to avoid the confusion and the time delays, hold off until you have applied and paid for your visa and your CO gives you a rough idea on when to get it done. Welcome!! What visa are you applying for?
  4. Ok thanks for taking the time to reply and explain. Much appreciated! Apologies for being snappy!
  5. Nice to know there are other people in the same boat isn't it! I'm off to see my boy on Wednesday for 2 weeks. It can't come quick enough!!!
  6. Snowy whilst I appreciate your comments there are a lot of people here who could probably do without hearing it. It's hard and stressful enough to apply for, spend thousands on, and then have to wait months to hear about a decision that is going to change your life either way. On top of that, my fiancé is 14,000km across the globe so having to go through it APART makes me quite sensitive to comments which I think may have been better left unsaid. As you can tell if you go back pages and pages, most of the discussions that go on here are either questions and those of support. This is what we are here for, to support each other through this ridiculously stressful time, not to put downers on each other. So yeah, thanks for that! I know it doesn't mean you will get your visa any quicker whether you do them at the beginning or the end of submission, but everyone's personal circumstances are different. I certainly don't live within close vicinity to a clinic, the nearest is over 2 hours away from me so I went and sorted it out at a time that was convenient to me, my work and my financial position, and confirmed good to do so by immi over the phone. If it comes to December and I HAVE to redo it then fine, nothing will stop me, but either way I am lucky enough to be in the position that as soon as that grant comes through I will be getting on the next available flight so it will activate asap. At least one of us has done everything by the book, hey.
  7. I did my medical June 3rd, and we lodged the visa June 11th. If this visa only takes the 10 months it's taking at the moment, it should be fine.....
  8. Yeah I'm going to, it's not particularly clearly stated anywhere that you should wait to do your medical until you actually lodge the visa, otherwise I would have waited. It would be good if maybe the clinics involved could save us the bother and ask when our visa is due to work out the best time to do it, but then I guess visa times are just getting longer and longer so who knows!
  9. I'm heading to Bunbury next year Kirsty. My partner lives there already so heading out on the PMV 300. We might move to Mandurah later in the year!
  10. Where does it say medicals can be extended? And who decides to extend them, CO's?
  11. I did my medicals at submission too as I was up in Berkshire and that's the nearest Clinic to me, 2.5 hours away. Have been asked to do them again in December, but thinking I might email around December time and ask if I really have to do it as it will actually be valid for another 6 months...
  12. Hiya, I fly to Aus for 2 weeks next week and emailed to let them know I had applied for eta visitor. I don't want to risk it!
  13. Keep me in Oz, you, Jen44 and I will all be stressing out around the same time come April!!!
  14. Oh this made me a little sad I'd love to have my mum around with me. Luckily have a wonderful MIL so will be blessed with her help.
  15. My mum would move at the drop of a hat, but her husband has never been and he has kids of his own so yeah, I don't think that would happen either! I know that we'll have constant visitors but it makes me sad to think we may not all be in the same room together after the wedding for a long time. Better make this Christmas a bloody good one eh?? I know once Christmas and NYE have been and gone i'll be wondering where the time went. I'm going to South West WA, my fiancée lives in Bunbury. What about you?
