Hi congrats on Aos...we’re still waiting Aos confirmation as they mucked up our first application inputting $1 for our duaghter’s first year’s earnings! Hope you don’t have to wait too long. Jacqui

Yes I think we’ll take that out once we get there...looks like the oldies get it free in Victoria!

Hi AMP. A few visits ago I got bitten by something near my eye and it really swelled up, went to the Base Hospital which is the public hospital and was sorted very quickly..again hardly anyone there. I just produced my passport! Our daughter has been living in Aus for nearly 15 years now, and she and her bloke just use the system rather than any private insurances. She’s had 5 children in that time..sadly one died...but the health system has been there for her every time..even when about to give birth and needed to go from Port Macquarie to Newcastle...she went in the heli!! We find the Aussie system very good...haven’t had to go to a doctor yet though...and wondering about ambulance charges??

Thanks for the suggestion, but we don’t have much as we live in tied accommodation! So will probably send clothes over in advance and the few things we do want to send...keyboard, table and fishing rods...in some other way!

Still battling Aos with Centrelink! Also needed clarification on one point on form 80. Daughter moved house this week...so mayhem rules at the mo! Can’t wait to get this all sorted now as it’s becoming tedious!

Did this mean that people got their money back, or they were just cancelled?

Hi, I know someone might have asked this before, but can you give me any idea if there is a time limit given for paying Aos and then 2nd VAC as we need to get our finances ready...and I’m not sure how soon! Thanks

It’s a pity you didn’t know....hopefully things will start happening in July. We’re waiting for our Aos to be reassessed as they made a ballsup of the original submissions! We’ve been told that they should’ve processed it correctly in about 2 weeks so hopefully we’ll have to pay Aos soon and then wait for 2nd VAC.....on tenterhooks now

I didn’t realize you’d started the process so long ago......if you’d applied for 173 back in 2012 you’d have been through the whole process ages ago

Thanks Pertenhall. Our daughter had the rejection letter but when she rang the number they said they only dealt with jobs, so she told them the letter had given their number for Aos Enquiries. The person the other end went away for an hour to read up on what Aos was and then rang back, but not very clear on things. We have another number to try and a case officer name so hopefully our daughter will be able to get some straight answers but so far her Aos experience from Centrelink has been appalling.

Does anyone have experience of adding a third person to Aos if original application of 2 people rejected. Can you just submit the extra person or do you have to resubmit everyone together? Thanks.....this is very stressful
