  1. We had to change on assuror and as the initial application was done on paper the new one had to be as well...our new assuror found no problems but then she’s in Canberra! I would think going in is much more preferable than stressing yourself ringing them!
  2. Oh @florafilan so sorry you've had this experience! Centrelink, I think, varies from place to place depending on experience of Aos. Our daughter is on the mid north coast NSW and there are very few people emigrating there at the moment....just people moving up the coast from Sydney to retire!! or join the hippy like communities up on the north coast
  3. Our daughter tried to do her Aos online, but it wouldn't accept it so she eventually had to go to Centrelink and submit everything on paper. They'd never dealt with this before so didn't really know what they were doing (regional NSW!!)
  4. Congrats! I thought you had to be there before your med and police dates expired, but maybe they’ve changed things? Good luck with everything...
  5. Yes we found out the hard way as well...you can’t include the amount in your annual income !
  6. I think both Qantas and Singapore do migration allowances of 40kg but I’m not sure how you claim them...probably booking direct with them I would guess? Good luck with it...and please let us know as we hopefully will be booking ours soon as well......
  7. I've heard that too! One assuror is on her way to the UK at the mo! the other one has a new address which Immi knows about who knows if they'll get it right...their track record isn't good!! Our local MP passed our initial request on to the Federal one a few weeks ago...so that's all good! Thanks xx
  8. Yes....we have both our assurors on hi alert for the message to pay the bond!!
  9. We contacted MPs a few weeks ago and they came back saying all they could tell us was that we were being processed!! Don't really know what to do now?? Thanks for your best wishes
  10. well 50 months now waiting for our 143!!! .....and we're still waiting for Aos to complete. We assume our assurors had their phone interviews 3 weeks ago, and as we haven't heard anything we assume they are OK....BUT NOTHING is happening! It becomes even more depressing and stressful as we are being made redundant at the end of October as our employer has ridden with us on this journey but can't continue to wait to develop his business!! and so will have no job or home at this point...the job provided the home...so we will then be moving in with my husband's mother. We never thought it would get to this as we originally were told 18 months! The fact that we have no control over our lives is causing incredible mental stresses and all sorts of nightmares....we can't get a rented flat as we don't expect to be here for 6 months...but we don't know....we don't know whether to try and get short term jobs.....how long will we be in them?? as we hate letting people down and it's very unsettling. We just wish we had a CO we could communicate with to find out some sort of timeline and that Immi would communicate!
  11. I think everyone has a different experience of Aos as our two assurors weren’t even sure they’d had a interview!
  12. We’re on tenterhooks waiting to be asked for Aos payment! Does anyone have any up to date timescale for this? Will it be a few weeks or a few months.....
  13. We’re still being processed ....Aos interviews done we think!
  14. Does any one know that if we open a ING account online whether we have to do anything once we’re in Oz to verify it, and also if we open it online in the UK will it be an Aussie account or UK one? TIA
  15. Well daughter has rung Centrelink 37 times in the last week or so, and eventually spoke to someone. As a result our son in law has had his Aos interview, and they’re just sorting out our second assuror...so We should be asked for money soon! So happy....good ol’ Friday 13th! Sunnies are well and truly being cleaned now! And we’ll be doing u-eys all over the place
  16. It depends on how many people you’re the assuror for and the family makeup. Varies from person to person.
  17. Thanks @Bear2015 and @Pertenhall for your concern. I had vague recollections of your problems @Pertenhall so we emailed our MP at the weekend. They couldn’t help but have put us on to our federal MP who now has all the details and is trying to find out what is going on. Our Aos was initially rejected back in May as our daughter’s earnings weren’t a valid source of income as far as the department were concerned, but we now have another assuror and are waiting for the outcome with their details. It’s the constant waiting and not hearing anything that’s grinding us down now after 49 months. Thanks for the best wishes and I’ll keep you all up to date as soon as we hear anything. Fingers crossed eh? Keeping those sunnies ready
  18. It’s very hard to know times as we started our processing in Feb 2019 and are still waiting for Aos to complete...our daughter rang the special number and was told off for bothering them despite the fact we’ve been waiting 6 months! It’s hard to carry on with life while worrying about this as we end our job and lose our accommodation at the end of October and we thought everything would be done and dusted after 50 months!!!
  19. All the best @Marilyn I hope your conversion goes quickly and smoothly! STILL waiting for Aos ...son in law spent all day trying to get through on the phone and they were so busy he didn’t even get onto hold! Hope everything happens soon as job and accommodation end at the end of October! Jxx.
  20. Yes @LindaH27 both our assurors have tried to contact them to see what is happening as we’re on 49 months now!
  21. It depends if everything is straightforward....we’ve been waiting since Feb 2019 and haven’t completed everything yet
  22. Hi @nitz. Yes de Natale! We’re hoping we can get somewhere this week....so very frustrating!
