  1. I feel for you I really do! Our daughter had the same probs a year ago, even talked it through with them on the phone and they could see no reason why it wasn’t happening...in the end she had to do a paper application. If you do eventually go down this route make sure you get confirmation references for later use as you may need them. All the best and good luck . Ps don’t know why I’m putting sunnies up when it’s been torrential rain here on the mid north coast all evening...and now into the small hours
  2. Hi ours were granted 13.12.2019 and we had until 13.12.2020 to enter and validate them. Our medicals and police checks run out March 2020 so you get more time now. Good luck
  3. You usually get an email from the doctor with details and that will tell you if there are any problems. I was aware that there might be a problem while I was having the medical, went through a lot of tests to be told I was 100% OK! Good luck
  4. Did you use an agent? as ours was able to help us with this. Also others on this forum have said they were able to up their limit to $100K ...can you ask for this?? all the best
  5. Everyone's smiling here on the mid north coast (NSW) as well because of the rain, and despite a localised tornado a couple of days ago. People lost their roofs but the local tradies have gone round and repaired them for nothing....good community spirit!!!
  6. It's weird isn't it? We wait ages then it catches us off guard.....huge congratulations.....not too long now!
  7. Hi, my daughter made sure she got a receipt from Centrelink, and then just waited. It took quite a few months to be processed. Initially she was rejected, but all sorted in the end. All the best.
  8. Hi we paid A$87200 for 2 people....A$43600 each.....good luck - hopefully won't be long!
  9. Hi @Sadge if you’re in NSW go to ServiceNSW (apparently they keep changing their name!) anytime you want, check in and they will ask you what you have come to do. They will give you a form applying for a licence to fill in which you can do while waiting for your ticket number to come up. You will need passport, driving licence and some secondary ID..Medicard is good. We didn’t need to show visa grant as they just VEVOd our passports. Once everything is processed, you take a quick eye test, sit for a photo and you’re done. You are given a paper licence until the plastic arrives, and a letter stating that your UK licence is no longer valid in NSW ..so don’t try to use it! . My husband applied for his licence at the same time, but as he has diabetes he had to be certified ok by a doctor to drive, so had a month to do this and go back to ServiceNSW. So now we are registered with a doctor as well! There is an option to choose a 1/3 or 5 year licence...we both went for 5 years being a$188 each. The process took about 1/2 an hour and was quite painless. By the way, if you wear spectacles for driving it will say this on the licence!
  10. I think so, as many people have used their children’s bank accounts as well.
  11. We paid via our agent at Go Matilda with no extras involved as they use BPay.
  12. Arrived on 2nd...staying with daughter at the mo! Loving it! Just applied for a job so keep your fingers crossed.
  13. Hi, had no problem with my step daughter, but then my husband is the main applicant! I had to give details of all my siblings (4) although they have no intention of going to Australia....not even on a visit
  14. Well through check-in and security at Heathrow....had to wait to have hubby’s visa transferred to new passport, but all good. Now having a burger before boarding....we’ll be arriving in Sydney 2 Jan . Happy New Year to everyone...May your wait be short...or at least shorter than ours! Good luck everyone.
  15. MoveCube was brilliant once they realised they had given the courier the wrong address! Bloke turned up early on Monday morning to load everything, we managed it in under 15 mins! Ironically our cube goes to Coventry over Christmas and New Year then comes back to Felixstowe...where we are at the moment to be loaded onto a container ship and start its journey! We fly Tuesday 31st...again hiccups as husband’s passport has 5 months 17 days left on it..Singapore Air won’t allow you on if there is less than 6 months so we’re off to Peterborough to get a new passport on Monday and let Immi etc know the new number
  16. Thanks to @Sadge @David Leask and @Quoll really helpful and has put my mind at rest on some points. We booked our Movecube on Monday for next Monday. Boxes etc were meant to arrive today but Seven Seas gave courier wrong address so haven’t arrived. We’ve been and bought some. Been trying all day to get them to sort this error out. In theory they arrive tomorrow but rather concerned that this will not happen...they haven’t been for a site visit yet! Why are there always problems? Will wait with crossed fingers tomorrow
  17. Thanks. Did you do it all electronically? We’re so stressed at the moment as Seven Seas tried to deliver our starter pack to the wrong address so we’re a day less to sort out everything boxes hopefully arriving tomorrow
  18. This may seem a strange question...Move cube...our boxes are arriving today....says we have to list every item value, new/used, what made of etc. anyone who’s used this did you just list things like craft supplies and give a value, and fishing tackle? We have a lot of collections eg family history memorabilia surely these things aren’t listed individually or I’ll be here until the turn of the century. Any help would be most appreciated!
