I really think this is inconsequential ...the current blockage is due to all the applicants in June/July 2015 which swamped the system. I don't think immi was expecting such numbers. We'll just wait our turn and not worry about what might hold itup more...it'll happen if and when it happens!

sadly I say don't hold your breath! We applied Aug 2015 and was told 18 months - 2 years. We're now on 38 months and will probably be another 8-10!! meeting the max 48 months that it is at the mo!

Hi we submitted Aug 2015. Haven’t even started asking us yet! Assume we’re going to be another 6-8 months at least. There was a hell of a lot of applications June 2015 so may have to wait until next processing year if the allocation runs out!

Wow we’ve watched the border protection programme on tv and people are refused entry on a tourist visa because they say they are doing things for no pay eg babysitting and voluntary work, or work for accommodation and food. Immi don’t seem to look on this kindly at all ...so I hope all will be ok for you. Best of luck

Hi I just send the same every time by hitting reply to the WA previously received, cutting all the message and leaving subject line which is “re: automatic reply:” then hit send. It usually comes back OK. Saying that I just did it and realized it was less than a week since I last did it so hence no reply!

Looking at the figures it looks like we’ll be lucky to get our visa in the next years allocation for 18/19 of 7175 if they actually process that many as there was such an increase in2014/15!

It’s interesting to see that previously Peter Dutton was minister for immigration and boarder protection within the ministry, but now it’s David Coleman in the outer ministry who’s responsible for immigration, citizenship and multicultural affairs. Immigration been put on a back burner then?
