On that timescale we should’ve heard something in April. I wonder if all the AoS kerfuffle has delayed things somewhat?

Congrats to all getting 2nd vac requests. Busy times for everyone and probably some butterflies! Has anyone with June/July 15 date had email to start the process ie meds, police Chequers etc? As we’re wondering how soon before they start asking! ?

If the whole thing had been done properly from the start the money would’ve been invested as in a private pension and there would’ve been more than enough to pay for the pensions. Don’t forget some people die young ie just after retirement!

The property you mention sounds very similar to the house my daughter rents. It is all on one level...4 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and the ensuite to the master has a walk-in shower. Utility room has sink and washmachine/dryer on top of each other. Pantry is huge with shelves so you can see everything and reach everything quite easily. There are numerous large cupboards throughout the house and a small garden. Only downside are the two steps outside to get in but it is in a hilly part of Port!

Well said SusieRoo. We certainly didn’t expect to wait more than double the original time posted and it is taking an immense strain on our lives as we’re having to stay in a job we hate just for the security until we move to Oz. Family is also suffering as they’re having to put plans on hold as well...the kids ..well how do you explain to a 4 year old (who was a baby when we started this process) and her older brothers ... that we will be living nearby soon? But don’t know quite when??? ?

I’ve seen episodes of Nothing to Declare where people have been hauled over the coals for this...just looking after children while parents work...need to be careful!

I think Senator McKim was all for removing the massive increase as he seems to want families reunited..I just think there are so many applications not just UK but India and China and many others that the queue is just getting bigger and bigger! We wish we’d known about the visa years ago but it was something we seriously didn’t think we could do...now just waiting to be called!
