The thing is as well that politicians like playing with peoples lives and because most 143 parents won’t become citizens for some years -maybe never, they’re not worried. I wonder how many sponsors are PR and how many have become citizens?

I sent a message yesterday ..said 5 May 2015....think there were a lot of applications at this time so taking a very long time to process! We still haven’t heard anything and are trying to put the whole thing out of our heads as it’s so depressing!

Also surely you can not apply for a 143 as you are not the parent of the sponsor?

I did wonder as I know about the tracker..just thought someone was trying to clarify who’s where! I have a folder where all relevant comments go automatically - makes it much easier!

Well said ramot and it is anti-immigration feeling they are stirring up! (They’re always thinking of themselves and the next election!) We’ve put our working lives into a holding circle..doing a job we now hate but keeping it going for our boss who is glad to have the income coming in (we manage a guest house). He’ll just develop this once we’re gone...but who knows when that will be as the original timeline made it February 2017! We’re trying to think of alternatives but job security and a steady income are important a we really don’t want to start spending the pot yet!

How are people with May/June/July 2015 lodgement dates doing re medical etc With a busy summer work wise ahead we’d like to have a rough idea about when we’ll be asked!

Features This visa lets parents of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia permanently. You could apply for the Contributory Parent (Temporary) visa (subclass 173) before this visa. Applying for the temporary visa and then this permanent visa costs more but the costs are spread across the two visas over a longer period of time. This is from Homelands website! Does cost more and possible more of a headache??

Is anyone getting requests to prepare Aos medical and police checks at the moment? As wondering how the dateline was doing...we’ve heard nothing and are beginning of August!

It’s beyond frustrating now! So near and yet so so far away! I don’t know quite what this timeline will mean in practice and I’m getting no update on processing dates. I see that 173/864 and 884 are no longer available due to low numbers! And if you have a 114 application you could wait up to 50years! Really ???. We can only hope something moves on soon and we start our processing..if not for us, then for the sake of our family!
