  1. Jealous, wish I could book flights home.
  2. didn't know they were touring, just found tickets for the show in Melbourne. Thanks.
  3. Yep, found them to be perfectly fine. Only thing is the ever cheerful customs officers when transiting through Guangzhou,
  4. Well yes, but you wouldn't expect to see Westminster Palace in Sydney would you... I don't think looking at Building A instead of Building B counts as more to do.
  5. I'm always unsure what people mean when they say there's so much more to do... What is there do in Sydney that you couldn't do in the UK?
  6. That's only true if you have a predisposition to osteoarthritis. If you're a healthy weight and take a sensible approach to exercise (i.e. regular but not excessive) than there's is no evidence to support the idea that running alone can cause knee pain.
  7. I haven't noticed the quality being any better in general, supermarket or restaurant. The variety of SE Asian foods is amazing though.
  8. Good for them. I've tried running here but just don't enjoy it as much.
  9. I feel your pain. I used to run 80km+ every week in the UK, I struggle to hit 10km a week here. Make up the shortfall on the treadmill but it's not the same.
  10. I still haven't found any cheaper or better food...
  11. Not really changed, never really got sick in the UK or here in Melbourne. Biggest difference is that I now run on a treadmill instead of out on the streets which is very dull.
  12. We usually watch motd on http://lasthighlight.com
  13. What breed is the black and white one?
  14. Wisbech! Now there's a lawless backwater...
  15. Marisa, how did your OH get on with the sun at the reef?
  16. my OH works at Catch of The Day and lets me know when they are about to start selling my shoes... (Mizuno Wave Sayonaras if you're interested)
  17. You can spot them amongst the rocks at the end of the pier, helps if you don't have too many beers at the Pier Kiosk on the way to look for them though :twitcy:
  18. 102 out of 321! No wonder we can't afford to buy a decent house in Altona.
  19. We're going back to Leicestershire in September/October
  20. I'm not suggesting that at all, but a place being full of atmosphere and vibe doesn't make it a pub.
  21. I think you're right, I certainly don't remember any fantastic pubs on my travels around Italy, Spain and the Scandinavian countries. Germany obviously has some amazing bier kellers but proper pubs can only be found in the British Isles. *'pubs' like the Queen Vic in Costa Teguise don't count.
  22. We actually found the sun in Tasmania to be just as strong as it is in Melbourne, which is much stronger than most of Europe. I do love Tassie though, such a beautiful part of the world.
  23. Ouch, that sounds unpleasant. The only time I ever had a problem in Europe was on a uni hockey tour in Spain, four days of being too drunk to remember sunscreen top ups left me rather red.
