  1. What is the deal with 'referred' medicals. Is this a process they do every x number? Or, is this something they do when there is an issue?
  2. Nickystar, I did reply to this on the teachers thread as well. You will not need to send your IETS to AITSL as you completed your Degree and PGCE in UK. Get the AITSL assessment sent off as this is a very long wait. You an then arrange for your re-sit of IELTS (you only need General for immi purposes)
  3. Go ahead and apply to AITSL - you have UK degree and PGCE - they will never need to see your IELTS score. Appy for the assessment and then arrange your re-sit for IELTS. This is needed for DIAC
  4. My degree is in History and PGCE in ICT. AITSL just want to know if you have 4 years worth of higher education with at least X amount days worked, in schools, under supervision. A BA Hons and PGCE will meet this criteria
  5. Quick question, Teacher Ben - what d you mean writing it 'australian' style?
  6. Currently Head of Business and ICT and Deputy Head of Senior in International School in Thaland 5 Years experience with the 6th year being in Oz (I hope) BA Hons degree is actually in History I have my eye on SMART teachers and HAYS as well as http://www.teachers.on.net/ Looking to register with the SA TRB in the next month after medicals and PCC's are uploaded on immi. The thing I am most nervous about is that ICT has only just been introduced as a national curriculum subject and in SA, many schools are not interested in 'specialists'. Business Studies again, seems rather limited and only available to teach to grades 11/12. I think I will have to look at convincing Aussie schools I can also teach English/Maths. I am not sure just having a History degree will enable me to 'teach' History. 'dmjg' - great advice on the CV and covering letter!
  7. Good man! I think it will prove to be very useful. Thanks for setting it up.
  8. Yes, head of Business and ICT. I am also a deputy head of senior, but seeing as it is such a small senior school, this is something that will be left for the covering letter. I must ask, have you done must research into Business teaching in Oz. I am finding the number of jobs rather limited in SA. So, you're looking for NSW?
  9. Let the waiting game begin...
  10. Hi Bissy, Go to 'settings' and then on the left pane select 'edit signature' and make sure you click 'save' afterwards Good luck with the invite
  11. Yeah, you really should email your CO and see what the hold up is...
  12. Wow. that's brilliant. Congratulations and good luck and all the best for the future!!
  13. Yes, that is speedy. Fingers crossed I have the same luck!
  14. Congratulations, good on you!TE=nick1828;1936426966]Hi all, Today I got my PR VISA 189.... flying to Melbourne soon....!!!! 15. I*m pretty sure the 'in progress' status doesn't mean you have a case officer, I had this status the day after I lodged...unless I really am extremely lucky.....
  16. Congratulations buddy! Can I asked when you lodged? got your CO?
  17. As the above reply states, there is a link that says 'health examinations required' (something like that)and after answering the Yes/No questions you get the button that states 'print referral letter' - this contains the HAP ID. Your agent 'could' do this for you if you want to front load medicals
  18. Immi advises that CO's will be appointed 'up to' 10 weeks for 189 and I think (based on PIO info) 7 weeks for 190. I am moving from Thailand and we really will be able to move with just to bags. We sold our house 2 years ago and all its contents to come here. To be honest, looking forward to starting to build roots again and start looking into the housing market in the next year or two....
  19. Yeep, your agent would be uploading all your documents and then...the wait
  20. 2 weeks down - another 6 - 8 weeks for CO???
  21. From the info I have got from here, the staus 'received' is displayed when someone has looked at it....no CO email though? You can call and see the status...you may actually have one
  22. There's a good number of us on here now with Jan invites...make sure people update their CO status!!
  23. DO you have any joint asserts? Any financial commitments together OR do you have any mail addressed to both of you at the same address. Council tax / utility bill etc etc. You can get the parents to sign a statutory deceleration along with both of yours?? I am currently in the application process and have uploaded sooo much evidence, I too am concerned I have enough, and I have mortgage statements with our name on!
  24. Congratulations on the quick turnaround from Application to Grant. Very good going
