Permanent residency visa would be great, then after 4 years (in theory) you can get citizenship, good luck

Hi, I think that you would be best to get here and start from new, all your kit will be under warranty and you can get sorted at a STIHL shop, There is some great specialist kit here which makes the U.K. stuff look a bit lame....!!! The hassle of importing a vehicle would probably be prohibitive.....IMO of course. Bets of luck anyway, SF -

I nearly sold our car to "we buy any car " in Oz....they were shown to be a scam and stole some Queenslanders' cars a couple of years ago..!!! They promised instant bank transfers which never materialised after taking the car and documents, keys .etc The U.K. "we buy any car" seems to be genuine though..!

Hi, when the citizenship officer asked me if I had a criminal conviction, I replied.."I didn't think you still needed one..!! " Ha Ha

When obtaining a driver licence....don't let them keep your U.K. licence..!! In my first state,(S.A.) they tried to keep mine and had kept other people's licence that I knew...!!

Hi, I have used the 9 day fortnight plus for Oz in recent times, For the record....I lived in South Australia and worked 76 hours in a fortnight spread over 9 days, ditto in North Qld, ditto in Melbourne now, A long weekend every second week and an extra day if the rostered day off is a public holiday too...!! Nice work if you can get it...Cheers FNS

Living in CBD will be expensive, an option is to look at places slightly outside cbd (South/easterly) and save your self rent which will pay for the car....The train system (metlink) is great and if you live near to a station you will be in touch with CBD imagine you are moving to London , would you stay in Knightsbridge, Mayfair , etc, prob not, you would think of the outer area. Good luck anyway, FNS
