  1. To confirm my work duties, I had a Statutory Declaration written up by my manager where he had his position in the company aswell as how long he's been with the company and the duties I performed. We then went to a solicitor (lawyer) and my manager signed the declaration in front of the solicitor. This was written on a plain paper (not company letter head). I also submitted a reference from my employer and it only stated my job title, start date and confirming I am still employed. Hope this helps.
  2. Thanks all. I'm getting the interest at the moment as I have opened a Oz account. Sounds like for simplicity, I should declare it when I complete the tax return in Oz.
  3. Hi, I'm currently in the UK and have opened up a bank account in Oz where I am receiving interest (small amount). I have my PR and will be moving to Oz soon. The first $18,200 is tax free, I will not be reaching this amount at all in interest. Do I have to pay tax on the interest earned or declare the interest? Also, this account is in joint names. Thanks in advance Mitesh
  4. We got 190 without the use of the agent but with help from people on this forum. You can find all the info you need online and you can be in control as well.
  5. Hi, I've enquired about the above with my kids CTF provider. We'll be looking to move end of this year. I can keep the CTF account open when migrating overseas and can continue to make payments within the limit (my case, I'll keep a UK bank account open where the monthly direct debit will be setup). When the child turns 18, they will send a cheque out to Australia made payable to the children or transfer the money to the kids account in the UK (I'll decide afterwards which route to take). I know someone who's been in Australia for few years and have the above set-up without any issues. Hope the above helps. Regards, Mitesh
  6. Congratulations to you too Charlton78. Ideally, I would like to be in Adelaide around December with the family but I think I may need to be there sooner in order to sort out schools for my kids. I'll be making some calls on Monday to couple of schools and then decide whether I need to there sooner or not. Keep in touch and maybe we could meet up in Adelaide sometime.
  7. Hi all, I got my grant an hour ago. NO CO appointed, direct grant. Feels life can now move on. Lodged 23-March-2014. 190 SS SA. Hang in there all, your turn will come very soon. All the best. Thanks all for your help and advice.
  8. Have fingers\legs\pretty much everything crossed.
  9. Lodged visa on 23rd March 2014 and uploaded docs (medicals done in May) but haven't heard anything. No CO assigned.
  10. Applied and uploaded all docs on 23rd March. Medicals completed end of May. No news of anything.
  11. Hi, I have the same question as above but my wife is a british citizen. Does she need to fill it in? Thanks in advance
  12. I submitted on 23rd March 14, haven't heard anything...no email of any delay or CO. I called again today and was told there are lots of applications to process, hence the delay. I asked about if the quota for 2013-2014 was filled but the person didn't know the answer. Also, asked about the 3 months processing time and was told, that's just an indication and that some applications are processed less than 3 months and others may take longer. Basically, no clear response. Fingers crossed.
  13. Viking, is your timing since submitting the EOI, receiving the invitation or lodging the visa after receiving the invitation? This is to get an idea how long I may need to wait.
  14. Hi, I applied for state sponsorship to SA directly (no agents involved) and I received an email stating 'You have received an invitation to lodge a Skilled - Nominated (Subclass 190) (Permanent) visa application nominated/sponsored by DMITRE.'. I then logged into the SA website and downloaded a pdf of the invitation for my records. I then completed the visa application on immi.gov.au. I am not sure how things work with the agent or with EOI.
  15. I applied for my visa on 22nd March 2014. I called the dibp today and they said 'no CO has been assigned' and they can't tell me when this would happen. They just said they're really busy and cannot provide any time frame. Hate this waiting game.
  16. Thanks Gidza. I should have been a bit more clearer. I know that the State do not have a say in the visa decision process and DIBP decides whether to grant visa or not based on the info provided\checks. When I spoke to SA state, they had checked their allocation and only then they sent me the invitation. Knowing that a State has confirmed that they are in need of my occupation, DIBP just needs to follow it's due diligence on the visa process. If I understood correctly, DIBP also checks whether it's reached it's limit or not before granting the visa (assuming everything is ok with application). Surely, if each state is managing their own allocation on each type of visa, then this should not impact the visa process. Right?
  17. I received the 190 invitation from SA. Thereafter, I applied for the visa. I was under the impression that the quota for the relevant occupation shouldn't apply since I have already the state invitation. It's just a matter of CO providing the visa within the processing time ... 3 months. Am I missing something in the visa allocation process?
  18. Managed to speak to someone from the DIBP and they advised the same as you dxboz. Thanks again.
  19. np dxboz. I found that embassy number and they couldn't provide any update\info. Thanks MaggieMay24. I also need to inform the DIBP that I need to update a passport number (got it renewed since it had 6 months left from April). Speaking to embassy, they said just put something in writing and upload this note along with new passport. However, I read in this forum that other have completed either 929 or 10xx. Not sure which way to inform the DIBP.
  20. If I wanted to call the national number, 131 881, what is the full number I would need to dial? e.g., +61 [...] 131881. I think there's a digit or few missing. Thanks
  21. Thanks dxboz. That number is going straight to fax.
