  1. Hi, I'm looking into purchasing and setting up a business (will partner will an Australian citizen, looking to invest around 300k to 400k) but do not fit the criteria under the 188 visa as I do not have enough experience and also the funds (minimum 1.5 million). I've been looking at visa 651 which will allow me to visit Australia on business purpose. Does anyone know if I am able to purchase a business? I know this visa or even the activity will not gain me permanent residency. Just need to know if I am able to purchase a business. If you apply for an eVisitor for business visitor purposes, you must not work in Australia, other than: making general business or employment enquiries investigating, negotiating, signing or reviewing a business contract activities carried out as part of an official government-to-government visit participating in conferences, trade fairs or seminars, as long as you are not being paid by the organisers for your participation. Thanks in advance

    2 EOIs

Hi, Is it possible to submit 2 EOIs, each for different occupation? I have a dual role, BA as well as a Manager. Has anyone been able to submit to EOIs? Thanks Mitesh
  3. Hi, I'm looking at purchasing a new build in Perth. I know as a foreign investor, I need to gain approval from FIRB. I've read that some developers on some of the house+land packages, gain FIRB approval in advance for potential foreign investors. Does anyone know of any developers or any new house+land packages that already have FIRB approval? I've used the realestate website but haven't yet found anything. Thanks Mitesh
  4. Congratulations. I've changed mine to 190 for Victoria SS on 15th Feb. Fingers crossed.
  5. Hi, I have been reading forums and state nomination info on WA\Victoria states on 190\489 conditions. I would like to know, if I received an invitation on 190\489 visa, do I need to have a job offer in my occupation? Do I need to have this offer before going to Oz? Or within a certain time of arriving in Oz? Thanks Mitesh
  6. Thanks everyone. I didn't think it was going to be easy. I'll just have to go through the 190 route.
  7. Hi, How does this visa work? I've read details on the immi website and am confused. Do I need to find a job\employer first and then apply for 457 visa? If not is there a place where I can find a list of employers who are looking to sponsor people? I just registered at immiaccount but doesn't tell me much. Regards Mitesh
  8. I did look around the web aswell as reading quite a few different forums but no luck. I even called up few agents in Uk where some said this info is not available \ maybe available on the web and the odd couple said they can only provide this info if they were acting as my agent. I'm not too sure whether this kind of info is actually available on the net. I have sent a query to Victoria state (twice now) but still no response. It's been around 2 months since my last query. Maybe I should have written what I did before asking the question on this forum.
  9. Thanks. I had 489 selected for WA but my occupuation seems to be very much in demand. I can go for 190 visa but would need to select another state. I guess atleast I can get into Oz and then after the 2 years move to WA.
  10. Thanks. Unfortunately, the agents charge a lot for info that is already available on the net. I was hoping someone knew where\how to get this info which will help lots of people in their process.
  11. Hi, The ceiling for this job is very close to being fulfilled. Has anyone received an invitation to apply for the visa? The invitation can be for any visa types (e.g., 189, 190, 489). If so, could you please provide the following details: EOI completed: Invitation date: I completed my EOI on 12th October for 489 and am still waiting for the invitation. Thanks Mitesh
  12. Hi, I was reading the FAQs on the Victoria state migration website and it stated there was an overall quota (I have this already) as well as the individual occupation quota for Victoria state. Does anyone know where I can find the occupation quota for Victoria state only? Need to check the quota for my occupation. [h=3]What are quotas?[/h]The number of skilled migrants that the Victorian Government can nominate against each occupation listed on the State Nomination Occupation Lists is limited by quotas for each occupation. There is also an overall cap on the total number of applications that can be nominated by the Victorian Government each year. This limit is set by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). Many Thanks Mitesh
  13. Hi, I have completed back in October my EOI for 489 - family sponsor, WA state. My occupation (business analyst) seems to be in demand as it's reaching it's overall quota (56 spaces left). Should I wait and see what happens or should I re-apply for another state under 190? Totally confused and am in need of some advice. Thanks Mitesh
  14. Hi, Has anyone recently been invited to apply for 189/190 visa for Business Analyst in Melbourne? If so, could you please let me know when you submitted your EOI and when you were invited to apply? I just want to find out about the timelines. Also, I know there have been a lot of people applying for Business Analyst and therefore the ceiling is very to it's limit. If you're applying for visa 189, does the ceiling (ceiling is at 1380 and as of last invitation round, it's reached 1300) take this into account or it is only applicable to 190/489? For example, if 5 people were invited on 189, does this mean the ceiling is now 1305. I guess this question applies to all other skills aswell. Thanks in advance. Thanks & regards, Mitesh
  15. Hi, Today is the invitation round (4th Nov). I've seen couple of people have received invitations to apply for the visa today. Normally, are the invitation emails sent out on the day (invitation round - today) or are they sent over the next few days from the invitation round? Thanks in advance
  16. I have submitted my EOI and am now waiting for the invitation to apply for the Visa. Can someone tell me where I can find a list of documents I would need to upload as part of the Visa? Thanks
  17. Hi, Just a thought, I have submitted an EOI selecting WA state? I'm after SS. My occupation is not on the WA list at the moment..waiting for the updated list. In the meantime, can I submit another EOI with the same details but selecting another state for SS? This is so that I can get to Oz asap instead of relying on WA SS. Thanks in advance
  18. Thanks Bal. I'm doing everything on my own as the agent costs are a lot. I agree with you, the aim is to move to Oz and start that life asap. So, you've selected 2 states in your EOI? I wasn't aware you could do that (doh).
  19. Hi, I have submitted the EOI selecting VIC SS as WA doesn't have my occupation in their occupation list for SS. If VIC select me to apply for the Visa and then WA have my occupation on their list, can I change my EOI? If I do not make the visa application to VIC, what would this mean? Thanks Mitesh
  20. I've sat the test couple of times and not getting the 8 in Reading, other subjects 8 to 9. There are other states that can sponsor me but means having to live there for 2 years. WA is the preferred choice as family is there. Might have to consider another state.
  21. Unfortunately I have 55 points and need state sponsorship. I'm now relying on the WA update list.
  22. I'm looking to WA for sponsorship. They do not have my occupation listed. However, my occupation is listed in the SOL and CSOL list.
  23. Hi all, I've been reading various immigration to australia forums and websites, and seem to have confused myself. There are 2 occupation lists, SOL and CSOL. In order to get the state nomination (190), which list should my occupation be on CSOL or SOL? The below statement is taken from SOL description from the immi.gov.au website which has raised my confusion. The SOL list is for skilled independant (189). The current Skilled Occupation List (SOL) applies to Independent (not nominated by State or Territory Governments) Points based skilled migration and Family Sponsored applications. Would appreciate some clarification on this. Thanks in advance
