Ahh Bribie island, my favorite place to live, thinking of trying to move back there?

It does not encourage you to recommend a place like that, I have had authorizations placed against my card as a deposit that could be claimed if needed, but never had the money physically taken and then replaced, it all sounds a step to far for me. they would never get my business again.....

Can I suggest you have a quick chat with an agent, visa's issued that long ago had a different set of rules, there may be a simpler route to get a visa reissued. A short chat with an agent could make things a lot simpler in the long run. You do not have to use an agent but some professional advice could be useful.

Can i suggest you google global visas or at least look on this site for other refferences to them.... try giving "Go Matilda" or "Visa bureau" a call and see what a reputable company suggests before you part with any money.. Seriously check them out......

If you are moving back as a permanent move then change the plugs. By using adapters you are adding a joint to the cable and any joint is a potential to over heat if the connection is not perfect. Possible to cause damage to cable or even a fire risk. If its a temporary move then use adapters with care.

rain.... you got rain..... can you send some down here, not seen any for weeks. We have watched as the storms have passed us by. A friend of mine has had to have water delivered by tanker as his rainwater tanks were empty.... Now he is hoping it rains soon or he will have to arrange another tanker delivery.

Is there a children's cardiology ward in western Australia?
carlhall replied to Bouncy's topic in Careers and Vacancies
Have you done a Google search for children's hospitals Perth WA, try looking for "Princess Margaret Hospital for children". Hope that helps. -
Not good news at all, My daughter works at Bantock House in Wolves, she has been there for over 12 months on a month to month basis, last month she was finally given an 18 month contract, now it looks like that could be at risk. Worrying times. She worked hard at school, went to university and got her degree and now finds it impossible to get a permanent position. She is now wondering if it was worth all the hard work?

Hi Clara, The rules about Holding a PR visa have changed considerably over the years and the expiry of these visas can have different conditions than today's visas. I think you will need to contact a Good agent to find out what chance they have of getting back. I have heard of visa holders from years ago and because the visa was issued under different circumstances they could come back to Australia to live. Contact a good agent such as " Go Matilda " or " Visa Bureau" and get to talk to someone who knows about the ins and outs of visas issued many years ago.

Does ANZ charge you a monthly fee to have an account with them?
carlhall replied to LadyCroft's topic in Money & Finance
I was initially charged $5 month for an ANZ account, but i went in and told them I was changing to a bank that did not charge, they removed the monthly charge and I have not paid it since. It was just a matter of changing the name of the account, they do have free accounts, but they are not advertised. -
Hi depending on what state you buy and register your bike you will need Rego..... equivalent to the UK road tax Includes basic 3rd party insurance but that only covers injury to people and not damage to property, so it is advisable to take out insurance to cover everything else. Road worthy certificate.... equivalent to MOT and depending on what State you are in the requirements vary. In QLD you need the certificate to register the vehicle and the seller should provide one. Then there is no annual test like the UK. In other states there is a requirement to get the bike tested every year. Your costs and charges will vary depending on the State you decide to live in.

Sorry but i do not think its a viable route for a visa, I believe your truck license is not valid in Australia and you would need to take the various tests to drive trucks over here. Only a car and bike license can be swopped directly for Australian Licenses.

Have you taken a look a "seek.com" ( http://www.seek.com.au/ ). if you are willing to travel look in areas that have suffered recent damage due to extreme weather. Gympie, Maryborough, Bundaberge and Hervey Bay/Burrum heads district. Those areas have been crying out for tradespeople for the work that is needed to repair rebuild following the flooding and Tornado's that swept through in January. There are still hundreds of properties to repair in those areas. I hope you find something soon.... Edited to add, have you asked on the sister site to PIO Life in Queensland, ( http://www.lifeinqueensland.com/ ) there may be members on there who could offer advice..
