  1. It's eleven months I'm following this thread and your misfortune, Viking. It's unbelievable: you lodged before me, and I'm in Australia from three months. Reallu unfair, the way you are being treated...
  2. Petrus

    hello!

No, not exactly. The idiomatic Italian meaning is something like "I know my friends so much that I can foresee what they are going to do even before they do it".
  3. Petrus

    hello!

Oooh, I'm sure about it but I think that your statement is quite hard to understand for a non Italian speaker...
  4. Petrus

    hello!

    Hi Vale, welcome aboard
  5. Absolutely not. That's the rule as reported on my grant letter: "You have been granted a permanent visa which allows you to remain in Australia indefinitely. This visa allows you to travel to Australia as many times as you want until 09 August 2018. If you wish to travel to Australia after this expiry date, you will need to apply for, and be granted a Resident Return Visa (RRV)". As you can read, no mention to a minimum stay during the first five years.
  6. Well, not exactly one year from the grant... it's usually about ten months, but you can even fly to Australia, pass the custom checks and then come back to your "old life" for up to five years after the grant, before the visa expires. It gives you a plenty of time to organize the move in every detail.
  7. As Alnaibii wrote, it's one year from PCC or meds, but don't worry: it will be clearly specified in the grant letter.
  8. On the immi site they just say that the partner profession must be on the same list to claim the 5 points, but there's no mention about the visa class. There I read that: "Partner skillsYou can receive five points if, when you are invited to apply for this visa, your partner provides evidence that they: were under 50 years of age had at least competent English had nominated an occupation on the same skilled occupation list as your nominated occupation had been assessed by the relevant assessing authority as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation". Every skill on the SOL is also on the CSOL, so in any case, both if someone applies for 189 visa (being on SOL) or for the 190 (being on CSOL) and the partner has a profession on SOL or CSOL, if the rule is applied as written the points could be always claimed. It is a very interesting question...
  9. Cancer is a lucrative business for the pharmaceutical industry, they can't give it away...
  10. We've lodged, paying the 3060AU$ fee only, just yesterday. So I can confirm that if you lodge the application before 28th of June you will pay the current price without any increase. Then between 28th June and 1st July the DIAC site will be offline and after that the new prices will be applied.
  11. So the State Sponsorship will give you also the 5 points that you need.... Just be sure you can reach the 7 in each band before lodging.
  12. If your skill is on the CSOL you can only apply for the 190 with the sponsorship of the state(s) that require your skill.
  13. What's the problem? Custom has taxes for motorbikes or cars (or parts of them) but not for bicicles, so you can send it as a normal package...
  14. Is a kind of tourist visa required for that kind of stay in Singapore, or not?
  15. Well, maybe it's because bills always reach you, even if you don't know you had to pay, whereas if you aren't aware of the benefits and don't claim...
  16. No, I don't think so as I've put my feet on British soil just a couple of times in my life and I've asked the same. Maybe it's an European attitude: we're (or, better, we were?) used to a strong welfare system where you pay and then you claim...
  17. Even if I'm not a senior member, I can try to answer your question Those benefits have an immediate start: Family Tax Benefit, Child Care Benefit, Maternity, Immunisation Allowance, Baby Bonus, Parental Leave Pay e Double Orphan Pension. I found the information on this doc: http://www.humanservices.gov.au/spw/customer/information-in-your-language/resources/9334/9334-1207it.pdf that's in Italian but, sorry, I can't find the English version even searching the whole site... BTW, take a look here: http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/newly-arrived-residents-waiting-period
  18. Can't you get a brand new prepaid credit card?
  19. My migration agent suggested me to book the medicals while lodging the application, in order to have the visit approximately soon after the assignment of the CO, since the queue for the medicals here in Milan is long the same of the time for the CO assignment. I think that it's a smart strategy.
  20. I'm impatiently waiting to join this thread... I've received the invitation a week ago, but I'm still waiting for some certificates to complete the upload of the application... :arghh:
  21. A skill assessment usually takes up to 12/13 weeks to be completed, so don't worry and keep calm mate
  22. No, the experience must be in "nominated skilled occupation, or a closely related occupation", as you can read here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-190/ If you reach the points for a permanent one, you'd better apply for it, because the temporary excludes you, for example, from Medicare, Centrelink and other opportunities that the PR gives, costing to you same money and involvement. There's the 489 visa, but I should consider it such the last resort, to be used only if you don't reach the 55 points level in the skillselect system (the 489 visa gives you 10 extra points). Yes, he has to, because a skill assessment is required while submitting the EOI.
  23. I can tell you for sure that South Australia refuses the SS if there is a request for another state. And I think that's not the only state that applies this policy, so you probably won't be allowed to require the sponsorship from all the states waiting for the first which replies, or you'll risk your sponsorhip request to be rejected, and then you may loose the possibility to apply for any 190.
