  1. thank you everyone for your help ! That gave me a little bit of hope, he's worked as an '' electricians mate '' & apprentice since he was 16, so maybe we could argue the case? We can definitely wait until he's got two years- we're only up to £8,000 in savings at the moment anyway! & Like you said he'll nearly be 25 so I'm sure we could hold out another month or two till we put in the application. We'd definitely rather go PR but judging by responses we might be better off going for an employer sponsored temp visa then applying once we're out there, originally we were worried about buying property but realistically I don't think we will for at least 3/4 years anyway.. I think we're both a bit skeptical about using an agent mainly as they seem so expensive and it's already costing a fair amount!
  2. Hey all, hoping someone can give us some help / advice. We've spent hours researched but seem to get more and more confused each time we do so..:arghh: Me and my OH of 4 years plan on moving out next year to live by some family of his ( auntie, uncle & cousins) OH is 24 a qualified electrician ( for 1.5 years NVQ level 3 + site diary) and has similar experience in the building trades for 8 years. I've just qualified as a nurse (2 months ago) and have 2 years experience as a health care assistant. We want to move out with a permanent residency visa- with the aim to purchase property within a few years etc. so we're planning on OH submitting the visa with me attached. He's done IELTS and got 8s across the board. OH - age 24 = 25 points english = 20 points 5-8 years** =10 qualification of rec. standard = 10 partner skills = 5 so in theory thats 70 points... question 1**: Will his 8 years in his trade but not as a qualified electrician count towards points? question 2 : would we perhaps be better off going out on a temporary visa? and later apply for the permanent residency? question 3 : is there any way we can use his aussie family to sponsor us on a permanent residency ( they live in Peel, WA) ? question 4: does the OH need to do the skills assessment (jeez they're pricey£££££!!!!) before we put in for skill select? Sorry to be annoying, we just want to get out there asap thankyou! x
  3. Silly question perhaps - is there any allowance for dyslexics? thanks!
