  1. I took out 2 weeks normal travel insurance and this was fine for our 457.
  2. We used to live in Craigie and my OH had to commute to Belmont now and then for work and going down 'the back roads' it still took best part of an hour, however this was before the roadworks on great eastern highway were finished. Now there are lots of lanes and bus lanes it's a lot better but I would allow an hour from Duncraig area.
  3. All I had to do was form 1229. I did however have to do it again when we went from a temporary visa to PR.
  4. 35 Pinjarra, WA Since May 2012 Don't want to go back to UK...I like it hot n sunny!
  5. On my form 80 I couldn't remember exact dates of holidays, so I just put month and year, don't fret too much about the form, just fill it out the best you can
  6. We recently did vetassess, they will only tell you the outcome via hard copy in the mail. You cannot see the outcome online or on email annoying really, luckily ours came in the post 2 days later
  7. I had exactly the same problem with Moneycorp/NAB....I liaised directly with John from Moneycorp too, they refund the extra overseas charges each time but its turning into such a hassle I don't bother using them anymore. I transfer small amounts each time so I have just starting sending directly from my aus account to my UK one. Shame because they are losing customers.
  8. Chemist warehouse is good too...I find lots of cheap things in there
  9. Hi...I live in Craigie & my OH plays for Joondalup United and he says they have a veterans team, have a look at http://www.joondalupunitedfootballclub.com.au
  10. I had this mantis in my garden last week, cute little character, turned his head and gave me a wave when I went to take a picture
  11. My daughter goes to craigie heights primary school, she's really happy there & has settled in well. I think it is a good school.
  12. I live in Craigie, we really like the suburb. We live more near whitfords ave/marmion ave side & it is perfect for us, it's quiet, never had any trouble. I don't know what the other side of Craigie is like, I personally just wouldn't live on Camberwarra Dr or Eddystone Ave because the roads are busier. I find the location great, only 20 mins till you see the city & only 25 mins the other way to Yanchep. The houses are older style & being one suburb back from the beach the rent is much cheaper. We also liked Padbury, again a nice suburb, perfect location.
  13. I live in Craigie & my OH is going for training with Joondalup United next week.... http://joondalupunitedfootballclub.com.au
  14. You can obtain finance, we looked into it...for a car costing $10500 we needed a deposit of $2000 min and as Alaska says cant be longer than the length of your visa. We didn't do the finance in the end tho.
  15. Im not going to be able to sleep tonight...the cool breeze has turned into a warm breeze now....wherever I go its just warm...love it tho
  16. This is Herbert...currently residing in our garden....only a baby one
  17. Can we have an up to date list please as I seem to have disappeared off the list
  18. We have just bought an above ground pool for our rental but the patio sloped ever so slightly. We told our landlord about the pool & just this last week he has paid for us to have a new patio put in! We did all the digging & levelling and he has laid the pavers, we just have to pay for our fencing and he is going to install that for us too. If we ever decide to leave we can either sell the fencing to the new tenants or take it with us & pop in a paver where the posts were. We are very lucky to have such a great landlord.
  19. We went with John mason & we paid about a week after they had packed & collected it, that way they can give you an exact cost.
  20. Wow that is expensive, ours from 5th June to 30th August is $274 for 3 bed, 3 people & I'm at home most of the time.
  21. We booked into the transit hotel, so glad we did, had good 8 hours kip & was refreshed for the next leg of the flight...we were just so tired when we arrived I wouldn't have wanted to go exploring
  22. My OH just looked on waca website & rang the club contact that was nearest to us & he is playing tomorrow
  23. I've changed my UK extension leads & use it for hair dryer, chargers & stuff and had no problems. I was using a travel adapter with a hair dryer & it got really hot and I could smell burning so I chucked it. I just wouldnt use travel adapters with things that require heating up.. i.e kettles, irons, toasters..hair dryers
