1. Hi Breezer, Thank you for your reply. I have followed your advice, and am now the proud owner of an FFA number I was thinking about Masters at Gungahlin this coming season too...I'd best get out running in an attempt to get anywhere near to fit! Good luck with the Futsal season. Cheers, Rael
2. Hi Breezer, Are you still looking for a player? I moved to Forde in January, and am looking to find some football and futsal to play? I'll keep my fingers crossed... Cheers, Rael
3. Hi all, I hope that you're all well, and that everything is progressing as you would wish. We applied for a 175 Visa last June, which was granted in September. Yesterday, we arrived in Australia! I've been keeping a blog, which will get more regular updates now that we're here...if you'd like a read, have a look at... Cheers, and good luck.
4. Well...after all the stress of the skills assessments, the Ielts test, and the application...we've booked our flights...we're off to QLD in August  We're very excited, just need to get everything organised for when we get there now...woohoo!
5. I'm a family (if that makes sense?!), and just as Melanie did, we did everything ourselves. If you do your research, and are unbelievably organised, then it's actually fairly straightforward-ish. It takes quite a bit of time, but the nice thing, is that YOU are in control of your application, and you know what the score is along the way. PIO is a wonderful resource too. So many helpful and supportive people. Also, it's cheaper. The key is deffers research and organisation. Good luck! )

Medicals

Hi, Sounds just like our medicals. We had ours in Maidenhead. It costs £200 per adult and £85 for a child. Would highly recommend them...really lovely people; professional and prompt, and a lot cheaper than others, it would seem.
7. It took 2 weeks after meds and police checks being uploaded for ours to come through. I wouldn't worry...it'll be any day now, I'm sure.
8. Make me purple! Visa granted! Woohoo! Don't want to go to work now! 15 weeks and 3 days from lodging to grant. Enter by 13/09/2013. Yay! Complete mindset change now. The focus has been so much on meeting requirements and getting everything sorted for the application, as it's so intensive, that we've not given massive amounts of thought to actually moving. Now, we'd better get cracking. So excited...

10. Hi, I scanned mine as colour documents at 300dpi. They were saved as PDFs; there was no problem with size or uploading them.
11. Hi, I recently had my medicals for a 175 visa; I'm borderline overweight/obese. I'm 6'3" and 18 stone. I'm a bit disappointed in myself, as I'd gotten down to 17 stone, but spent the two weeks of the olympics watching sporting excellence whilst eating a load of rubbish food (trying to bring balance to the force!) Anyways...the Dr was quite happy, and my medical status has progressed to finalised, without me hearing anything else. Fingers crossed...
12. I uploaded my PCCs via the online system. There's an 'overseas police check' in the drop down menu. It's just like uploading your other docs. Also, you don't need to have it certified...just scan and upload. I also emailed our CO, to let her know we'd done it. The following morning, all our checklist status' read 'met'. Yay! I wasn't requested to complete form80, but it's big, so I'd scan and email. Just make sure that you get your TRN, name and DOB on the email.
13. Meds completed and PCCs uploaded. Now we just sit and wait...Yay!

15. Yay! CO assigned this morning (18 August 2012) - we've been asked for Meds and Police Checks.
16. Funny isn't it...you check your emails on your phone through bleary eyes every morning, and even though you don't really expect anything from DIAC, you're still slightly disappointed when there's nothing there. Then, on a Saturday morning (the day when you really didn't expect anything at all), you check, just out of habit...and there it is! :chatterbox: We lodged on 16 June, and were assigned a CO on the 18th August....gobsmacked at how quick that is; happily gobsmacked  We've been asked for Meds and Police Checks. Good luck to all others waiting...
17. So, there's been an update, but I'm confused (it happens easily!) Does this mean that applications lodged post July 1st take priority in terms of processing over those lodged before July 1st?...

Applications with nominated occupations on the Skilled Occupation List Schedule 1. See: Skilled Occupation List ( 37KB PDF file) Order of processing will be: applications lodged from 1 July 2012 through SkillSelect applications within this priority for other GSM subclasses (subclass 175, 176, 475, 487, 885 and 886 applications).

Is that the case...it doesn't seem right if it is...?
18. Hi, We lodged our application on the 16 June 2012...and no news yet; and, to be honest, I'm not expecting any for a little while. However, this hasn't stopped me from sleepily rolling over each morning and checking emails on my phone through blurry eyes. It's a little like buying a lottery ticket each day...that small, but unrealistic sense of hope that vanishes almost as quickly as it arrived! I am hoping for a small electronic message of joy sometime soonish though, pretty please. I really thought that we'd lodge, and then put the whole thing to the back of our minds forget about it for a while. We've been so busy with gathering supporting evidence/having skills and work assessed, and IELTS type activities for so long, that mentally, all we've been thinking about is Australia for a loooooooonnnggg time. But, we're even more hooked on it now...anything we can research/explore/learn about, we are. I think it's because, initially, we were set for a 12-18 month wait for a CO, but people do seem to be being processed more quickly, and so it all seems a bit more immediate. All of our requested docs are uploaded...I've printed form 80 (just in case!), and so we sit and wait, with everything crossed. I'm hopefully confident that we've covered everything that is required...

AITSL help

Hi acar, I've recently had my skills and experience positively assessed by AITSL, and yes...everything was scrutinised. I'm a secondary school music teacher...I had to send certified copies of all education certificates and transcripts, all my PCGE bumph and a reference from work to state that I've been there for at least 12 out of the past 24 months. I also sent my IELTS test results, which were mentioned on my certificate. I think the thing to remember, is that in being assessed by AITSL, you're not applying for a job, you're having your suitability for work in Australia assessed. All the skills and qualifications that you've built up over a number of years are being assessed in one hit. In this country, as you're becoming qualified, things get ticked off one by one, and so it seems less intensive. Take a look here...this document lists everything that you need for a successful outcome... http://www.aitsl.edu.au/verve/_resources/Assessment_for_Migration_Application_Guide_2011.pdf
21. Sorry, more questions! So...we've lodged an online application for a 175, and we've been given our document checklist online, and it mentions no additional forms that we are required to fill in.. We then receive an 'automatic notification email' acknowoledging our application. In this email, it says... "If you have not already done so, you will need to provide the department with the documents listed below by attaching these documents to the eVisa browser:" In the list, it mentions some of the same items as our document checklist, but also mentions form 80 and form 1221. Do I need to do these, even thought they're not mentioned in our checklist, or is this a generic email. Or, if I don't upload them, are they things that the CO will ask for. Should I just get on and get them filled in, scanned and uploaded? I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but I don't want to get this wrong...
22. I've seen a message regarding this on here before, but I can't find a solution... I'd like to upload evidence of our de facto relationship, but when I click on the link provided in our document checklist, I get told to download a PDF of 'Form 10', and I get a 'link broken' message. Has anyone found a solution..?
23. You've lodged on the same day as us...exciting times! Are you both married, or do you have de facto stuff to send... Good luck!!
24. JoandRob - thank you for your reply...we've begun the uploading process...very exciting! Half of me wants a CO as soon as poss, and the other half is saying that we're not prepared properly for that yet...I know which side is winning! Good luck with meds and checks. Where are you headed to in Oz then?
25. Lebourvellec, you've been really, really helpful, but I'm struggling to understand - 'as long as you colour scan an original document (regardless if the document is in B&W) it will be accepted' How can you have a colour scan of a black and white document? I know that you make sense, it's just that it's late, and I've just spent 2 1/2 hours uploading docs and my brain is frazzled!! I can't get my head around that sentence...
