1. Hi Scrumpy, Your very welcome, it's nice to be able to help as we started totally from scratch. My husband came over as a Construction Project Manager as he has been doing this for the last 8 years. He is also trained as an architect and did the 8 years full time at university and has been drafting and drawing for about 17 years. So we have found more jobs advertised in Bunbury for architectural drafters in which he has been applying for and just waiting to hear about a recent interview he's just had as they have been asking for references. If he gets it they have asked him if he will apply and get his architectural qualifications assessed too which we don't have a problem with. There seems to be more work at Bunbury for him. We spent 5 weeks near Perth, a week in Bunbury just searching for the right area that would suit our family. What type of work are you in? Have you had any look on seek or other sites?
2. Hi there, we've came over from England 8 weeks ago. We came over on a 489 visa. We have been living with friends just above Perth but couldn't find any work regionally there for my husbands occupation. We checked Mandurah out and spent a week at Bunbury too. We couldn't find any work at Mandurah and didn't think there was as much to offer as there was at Bunbury. We have two young children and felt that Bunbury offered a lot more workwise and a good all rounder in general. We have got a rental at Treendale, Australind. The children go to school there too. It has a village feel to it which is what we are used to and think its great to have Bunbury about ten mins away where you can get anything you want from there too. I would seriously check them out and find what works best for you and your occupations. We have found that we totally rely on sites like Seek, jobrapido, wajobs to look for work. I would check the work sites out and go with how you feel as to how much comes up for the area you are qualified in. Mandurah is a lovely place and I know you have a train route to Perth but if you have a car it only takes an hour and a half to Perth too so I wouldn't rule out Bunbury. We felt that Bunbury had more to offer than Mandurah personally although they are both lovely places. Mandurah seemed much smaller and couldn't see much to do there even for the day. Being at Bunbury you also have some beautiful places to visit like Bussleton and Dunsborough, Margaret river too. Good Luck!
3. Hi All Been here 3 weeks and had an interview for a new homes sales consultant this morning, all very positive, they filled me in the role and want me to ring them on Monday to let them know what I want to do. Has anyone on here been or is still in the job?, not sure what to do Thanks
4. Booked taxi one way to Manchester airport for 2 weeks tomorrow! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
5. Thanks for your reply. I thought they where but he confused me, Our grant letter does'nt state which the eligible postcodes are.
6. Checked with our CO last night about the areas I can live and work in on the Skilled Regional Sponsored (Provisional) (class SP) subclass 489. It reads to me in booklet 6 (part below) that I can live and work in the postcode areas listed. Our agent says the same as me but our CO says: "The areas you can live and work in in Western Australia, so that you qualify for the second stage permanent visa can be any area who’s post code is NOT listed below."

WESTERN AUSTRALIA (Except Perth and surroundings areas) 6041 to 6044 6083 to 6084 6121 to 6126 6200 to 6799

Now Iam a little confused by this riddle! Please help Thanks
7. Hi All I don't know if I am missing something but during this process I have tried to find out the criteria for the job I have to do when working whilst holding the 489 visa to enable me to eventually apply for pr. I can't seem to find it anywhere, is it critical that I find work in my skill shortage and what if I can't? does that go against me?
