  1. Our CO resumes today, back from vacay... hope to hear some good news this week, would prefer to hear it today or tomorrow but i guess friday is fair enough as well :daydreaming:
  2. I hate when COs go on vacation in the middle of processing one's visa. Sent an email in reply to the CO's request for more info, got an auto-response, she is out of the office for the week! now we gotta wait a whole week, and that feels like a year's wait!!!!!!
  3. if you have a baby in Australia and you have a PR at the time of birth, the baby automatically becomes an Australian Citizen.
  4. the CO emailed to ask for some more info. thats how we know. the application tracking says the same as before still. i dont think they update that as they should
  5. got a CO on the 16th of October, that has been a week short of 3 months wait, she has asked for additional info and we have supplied that so expecting a happy conclusion by week's end. Perth Office, GP, Labor Agreement.
  6. so the parents got a CO on wednesday last week, almost exactly 3 months after the application. She has requested more info and that has been sent in today, hoping to get a happy conclusion by week's end. at least i can say Perth is moving. How are you guys going?
  7. Northernpommy, have you heard anything yet? i have seen 1 july and 1 august applicant get grants.
  8. sounds like a lot of drama but all is well that ends well yea? Congrats Rania!
  9. well, if it is a visitor's visa (and i am assuming it is), as a tourist, if you dont have an invitation from someone, you will require a bank statement to show how you intend to cover your expenses, evidence of hotel booking, return ticket (itinerary at least), and proof of ties to your home country, basically strong evidence to suggest you will go back home when you said you will. Note: i am not a Migration Agent, this is just what i know from the experiences of friends and family.
  10. very nice Jais. that is good. that puts my theory that they havent started on the current year applications in the trash! lmao. very good. I am rubbing my palms waiting for the stampede of people getting allocated and approved. my optimism level just rose a bit. anyways, keep us updated Jais (and anybody else with progress). the good news helps.
  11. right, i guess that would be the case when you have a MA. A holiday sounds about right
  12. @ Sub: call 131 881. they might be able to tell you if you have a case officer or not. its usually a toss up, the person who picks up might or might not be willing and/or able to give you the info. we got lucky when we called and we were able to confirm that our medicals had been received and no CO had been allocated yet. she actually said we should be allocated within about 4 weeks, those 4 weeks will be up at the end of next week so you know we gonna be calling again just to say WAZZAP?!!!
  13. there is literally no movement at all post 26th of june. and this thread has gotten really quiet too. how long will these guys (DIAC) take before they get stuck into 2013/2014 applications? *sigh* i try to use the approach of "forget you are waiting for anything and focus on other things..." absolute failure, cant do it. lol. i need to start seeing july applicants get grants before i blow a fuse. lol. and the quiteness of this thread is not making it any better  maybe a "waiting for DIAC" party is in order
  14. congrats to matthias and wizzle. it does look like they are cleaning up june. i havent seen one july applicant get an approval yet. i reckon they are trying to clean up 2012/2013.
  15. it doesnt seem like there is a lot of movement around the 186s. i saw on an RSMS 187 thread that DIAC is sending some 187 applicants messages like below: "Regional Sponsored visa applicants – please note: In the skilled stream, of which your visa application is a part, priority processing arrangements and Migration Program planning levels have been designed to ensure the Australian economy gets the skills it needs now. The Migration Program planning levels for the visa category, Regional Sponsored, has a limited number of places left for the 2013-14 program year. This will mean processing times may be longer and that once the remaining places are used, the department cannot grant any application until the following program year, unless more visa places become available. Until that time, I cannot guarantee that your application will be decided in the immediate term, nor can I give an indication as to the likely timeframe. You can be assured, however, that the department will contact you when we are ready to finalise your visa application." this brings a question to mind; does the 186/Employer Sponsored have a yearly quota as well? Please note: The quoted message was "borrowed" from another poster on the RSMS timeline page.
  16. thanks guys for the quick responses, got it now. i thought that might be the case but i had to get confirmation from those who might know better. Again, thanks guys!
  17. I was just wondering what happens if one has been out of the country for more than 90 days in the last 12 months before intending to apply for citizenship... Do you just wait another 90 days in australia or does the 12 months start again from after the 90 days away? i hope that was clear enough. Thanks in advance guys.
  18. You already know! lol.
  19. As a proud member of this group for a long time, i am happy to report that my relationship with DIAC is now over. i got my passport last night. i know the group is sort of asleep but i believe this is the greatest PIO group that ever was, IMO. lol
  20. for those who are not on the main thread, someone just said they called the perth office and were told the wait for 186 is now 5-8 months... it used to be 3-6.
  21. oh no!! just the other day, perth said they were on a 3-6 month wait... thats an average of 2 more months of waiting!!! not good... *sigh*
