  1. 489 visa is a regional visa and every state will have their own requirements and points needed for a specific occupation. You would need to go to the individual state websites to see their requirement. For 189 or 190 visa the minimum required points are 65 but again people with less than 70 or 75 points haven't been getting invited recently. Applying for 489 and getting accepted gives you 10 points on top of what you already have and 190 visa gives you 5 points.
  2. Don't know about assessment for Cooks but I am sure there will be other helpful members who will chime in with their experience soon. You should be able to get information about the costs and process/experience in the assessing authority website though.
  3. English test for immigration is not required unless you need the points if you belong to one of those countries but skills assessment are different. You might require English Tests for assessment based on the job you are getting assessed on. So I cannot comment on that.
  4. I would suggest you to talk to a registered migration agent regarding this. There are some good ones on this site. I think in cases like this, tourist visa might also be difficult to get. Even if you get one, your children have to go out of the country when the Child Visa is about to be granted to enter on the permanent visa as the visa was applied overseas.
  5. You don't have to write the tests if you don't need the points. If you are from UK, USA, Canada, NZ etc, you don't have to take the tests unless you need the points. Fair enough I would say as even native speakers struggle to get a score of 7 or 8 in all bands in IELTS. I am not a native speaker and I was easily able to get 7 in all bands, not once but twice. You should have no issues.
  6. Can't you create an immi account and check your status?
  7. By reading your other posts, your case is pretty complex. I am surprised that you would think that you have a simple application. Just for that reason I will contact a RMA.
  8. I am not a native English speaker as well and got 7.0 in all four bands in IELTS. Haven't done PTE, so cannot comment on that.
  9. Raul and W Russell are both reputable registered migration agents.
  10. Hello All, I moved here with my wife and daughter in 2017 January. My 5 year travel portion of the visa expired Feb 1 2017. I know that I haven't completed 2 years out of last 5 years requirement but is it possible for me to get a 5 year RRV, if I apply now? I haven't bought a home here yet but have permanent job in Adelaide. I was initially thinking of applying for my RRV in January 2019 but due to personal reasons, I may have to visit my home country by the end of this year. Just wanted to check if there is a possibility of getting a 5 year RRV if I apply now. If it will just be a 3 month thing, I will apply probably a month or 2 later. Thanks.
  11. Do some research. All information will be available on NT website and on Wiki. You don't have to be perfect.
  12. Unless you are planning to leave Australia in the coming few months for a vacation, you don't need an RRV. If you apply now, the maximum you would get is 1 year RRV. Only after living in Australia for 2 years, you would get a 5 year RRV
  13. You need to make your first visit to Australia within 1 year of your Police/Medicals. This can just be for a holiday to validate your PR. Once you have done that you will have 5 years to make your permanent move.
  14. Depends on where you are coming from. I know one colleague of mine who went to Brisbane to have some sun from Adelaide. It is probably winter there but for people in SA, it is like summer
  15. Congratulations on the visa grant...Where in Australia are you heading to? Yes little bit of planning is required in terms of the seating and the bassinet etc. Take enough supply for the kid. I took a 3 month old and it was smooth sailing. She just cried on one of the flights but overall was pretty calm and slept in the bassinet. If you are coming to SA or VIC, I would wait for couple more months as it is very cold over here. Sydney weather is decent so you can move anytime and if you are moving to Brisbane it is very hot there now. I took my
  16. The VO knew it already with the documents we submitted. The VO asked us what was our plan if we did not get the visa by that date, we said that we were planning to take the baby on visitor visa. She granted the PR within that time and and asked us to withdraw the tourist visa application.
  17. No I did not submit anything. I just took my daughter for the medicals and they uploaded the results to DIBP and I never even followed after that. I asked the VO and I was told that they had received the medicals. Thats about it.
  18. Don't know. Never checked or logged on to my immi account after the child visa was granted. I got my PR granted in 2012 and had used an agent. So never thought of looking there. I am thinking no as your child was not part of the initial PR application but I may be wrong.
  19. Please make sure you check your spam mails. I missed my first communication from the VO as it went to spam, thank god the second one came to my inbox.
  20. It should be sooner than that for you as you have already received Medicals and contact from the VO.
  21. VFS tracking in unreliable. I never tracked anything on their website. My daughter's case was always showing "No records found" even when I was being contacted by the VO.
  22. For me it happened on the same day but again my case was different. My visa was expiring in 20 days and so there was a case of urgency with my application.
