  1. I got invited to apply for a 190 skilled visa as a fitter in August for SA. I potentially have a job offer in a critical sector whom is able to provide immigration with a offer of employment. Does anyone know how much this will speed up the process and if this is what is needed to have a case officer assigned to my application? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

    JOB OFFER FOR 190 VISA

Hi I am new to this so can anyone advise - for Victoria state nomination skilled 190 Visa - do you have to have an actual Job Offer or is it acceptable to have enquired about your suitability for different possible roles i.e job search, contacting prospective employers? (All other criteria in place - age, points, skills assessment, etc) If someone could clarify this please - for those who have completed the Visa application recently. I can't imagine how you can co ordinate job offer, partner/husband job offer, selling up, moving, immigrating and eventually getting there? Feeling slightly concerned. thank you in advance.
  3. I’ve just been granted a 457 visa. Due to the delay in visa processing the timing has meant presently there is a shortfall in work in the office I was meant to start in. The job offer hasn’t been rescinded yet but I’m not sure where I stand. I’m working in the UK for the same company, although different division. I cant even check my visa conditions as my company submitted the application. Question: 1. Is there a time limit on starting the new job in Australia or can I wait it out until things pick up? 2. Can I transfer the visa to another company in Australia before I travel and start work for the nominated company? Any help appreciated!
  4. Hi All I've been in Melbourne now for 4 months and have found the job market to be very different here. Overall, I'd say its tough to get that first role as an expat. Having said that, I've got an agency that have come back asking for references, and when these came back from the UK with just dates of employment and job title only, as is becoming standard practice, they've asked for personal references from people I worked with. I've had to call in favours for this yet I have no guarantee that I will be offered a job. Is this normal to ask for this degree of reference checking before you've even been offered a job over here?
  5. Dear All, I am waiting for WA State Sponsorship invitation having lodged EOI (Subclass 190) end of last month. Unfortunately, my occupation 511112 Program or Project Administrator has been categorized under Schedule 2 which requires job offer (12 months Full Time) from AU employer. I am a bit worried securing job as offshore candidate. Any good suggestion in this regard? Please share. How likely arranging job applying from other countries. If you got invitation under schedule2, how long it took to get the invitation and how you arrange job? Thanks in advance for your kind suggestions!

  7. Hi there Met my partner in March 2012, in Sydney. Went back to the UK, re-visited for 3 months, back to the UK, now back in NSW and on 12 month tourist visa (Expires July). As of 2 weeks ago, i am officially broke. I cannot work as i am 33, do not have a skilled profession and have no money to re-train for anything. Getting married is not an option and i cannot afford the cost of applying for a de-facto visa, that would grant me the right to work, even temporarily. Has anyone been in this position? Do you have any suggestions? I miss working (for my own sanity and a healthy social life outside of my partner) and would relish the opportunity to earn some money. Going home seems the only alternative and this, of course, is heartbreaking. Can anyone help???? :ssign16:
  8. I'm currently in Australia on a WHV and am on a 6 month contract. I absolutely love the job I work in and am really happy at the moment. The only problem is that I want to stay in Australia. I have asked about the possibility of sponsorship and unfortunately have been told the company will not sponsor anyone other than senior management, as much as they would want to. I have recently attended an interview with another company who have offered me a job. Initially in the interview they seemed really interested in retaining me and said that sponsorship is definitely a possibility and asked lots of questions about my qualifications. They have since offered me a temporary contract until my visa expires and have said they would possibly look into sponsoring me somewhere down the line but this involves a completely new interview and a series of testing and there is no guarantee. The more questions I ask, the less interested they seem in sponsoring me and HR at the new place seem very unaccommodating and quite grumpy. I wondered if anyone has been in a similar position and could offer any advice? Do I take my current employer's word they won't sponsor me or try and persuade them to make an exception? Do I take this other job on the chance that they may sponsor me, or stay at my current job knowing that at least I will be happy for the remainder of my time in Oz? I have heard that lots of employers use sponsorship as a metaphorical carrot to get and retain staff for the 6 months they can work on a WHV without any intention of ever carrying it out. I'm really grateful for any advice anybody can offer me. Unfortunately I'm not eligible for skilled migration, however there is a chance I could be eligible for state sponsorship but this requires a lot more investigation. Help ... please!!!

If you are a CAT Trained Heavy Equipment Fitter / Mechanic in the UK or Ireland and are interested in working in or migrating to Australia then please email me with your details and your cv cat-jobs at cat-jobs.com There are currently 45 positions available, these are in various locations around Australia some are in Capital Cities and some are regional – the Permanent Australian Residency visa offered will be employer sponsored, either the RSMS or ENS depending on job location, this means you and your family will be Australian residents from day one in Australia, your obligation under this visa is to work for the employer for min two years. The salary offered is high, as these are mining related positions, the company will be paying all your migration fees, all medicals, all visa fees, air fares, is offering a relocation payment and the company will subsidise the cost of house rental for the first 12 months. This is the first time I have used this forum to post a job, if I have made a mistake or breached any rules it is not intentional and please advise me if changes are required or my post is not appropriate. My team and I will be in the UK and Ireland in May to interview CAT fitters and talk to them and their families about relocating to Australia, feel free to come along and ask questions about relocating to Australia, this is not an Australian Expo, there is no charge, we are genuine Poms who live in Oz and have the chance to offer that opportunity to other suitably qualified people in the UK and Ireland, why not come and have a chat with us, we will be interviewing in Manchester, Reading, Dublin, Cardiff and Edinburgh in May, exact dates and venues will be published on the websites in around two weeks time. If you know anyone that works on CAT heavy equipment in the UK or Ireland that is interested in discussing living and working in Australia – please let them know, they will never have a better offer than this. Please PM for more information. Thanks Dennis Migrated from UK in 92 and still loving it
