1. If doing your own fencing and doing frameless glass I strongly advise against using bolt down spigots - glass panels are heavy and having them fall over could be a disaster. I always prefer to core drill posts/spigots wherever possible (even semi frameless or tubular) but you need extra thickness along the fence line whether limestone or concrete under paving.
 2. Remember you need to do a separate council application for the pool fence - some fence guys will do this for you, I do if asked.
 3. So the idiot Premier Barnett would have you believe !
 4. If your company needs a top class video conferencing set up just drop me a PM ;-)
 5. I'm sorry to hear you are feeling like this. It really puzzles me as we have found all of your list in and around Perth so maybe as another poster said, perhaps it's the suburb/area is wrong....where are you now ? Perth is a very large spread out metro area so is naturally very varied from one part to another.
 6. Letton Percival or Insure-Your-Move are the only 2 players in the non shippers market. IYM charged us 600 pounds for 35000 pounds worth of goods and a small claim was easily dealt with.
 7. You would be very lucky to get a job here from the UK, most employers will, understandably, want to meet you in person before committing !
 8. Electrician will give you greater state choice (assuming you are looking to be state sponsored) as data cabler is only on the SA list currently. My assessment for telecoms tech was through TRA back in early 2011 and took 8 weeks.
 9. Not sure what visa you are applying for but data cabler isn't on the skills list so you are better off on the sparky route as long as you've been doing this work recently too. By the way nice to meet a sparky that knows how to data cable - a lot do it here but the quality is rather shocking in a lot of cases. The crazy thing is I (as a telecoms tech) had to pay for training to become a registered cabler here but sparkies can do Comms cabling under their licence with no training ??
 10. 7 Weeks in and no regrets other than leaving family and friends. Finished work yesterday and went straight to the beach with some fellow poms, that is what i call living!
 11. Sorry to hear it's not the "dream" life you expected but to tell everyone else not to come is a bit OTT ! Let us make our own minds up when we arrive...................you make your own luck and we all make mistakes, for it is some moving countries !
 12. Great site link VERYSTORMY, found myself a job but in the wrong state.................dammit !
 13.

A bit late I know but Happy New Year to you and Dave. Hope things pan out this year for you both, I'll try to help you if I can when we finally arrive in Perth later in the year. Justin x

Sorry I don't know how long NT state sponsorship takes but most states take 4 - 8 weeks to process.

Tricky question as things do seem to have slowed a little after the 1st July changes.

I would suggest that the visa could take 3-6 months from lodging but times change all the time.

Congrats, stage one complete !

Mine was registered by TRA on 8/4 so a little while yet. Someone else I know on here just got theirs back after 16 working days so I'm checking every day !

 17.
I'll see if I can find a link to the new points test for you. It is still a draft but very likely to become the norm on 1st July. I don't need IELTS under the current test as I only need 6 and a British Passport gives you 6.5. If I don't make it before the 1st July I will need to get 8 on IELTS to get to 65 as I'm a bit old !

 18.
Maybe 3 weeks awaiting and 1 week to process ! LOL

 19.
Hi. I assume you are aware that time is VERY tight to get TRA, SS and visa app in before 1st July. Have you checked you can get enough points under the new test ?
