    Electrician or Data Cabler??!!

Hi guys, My gf and I are trying to get started on our visas for Australia. I am a qualified electrician but have also done a lot of data cabling. I have seen the vetass assessment for electricians is quite expensive! I was wondering if you needed to carry out a similar assessment for data cabling or if this would be an easier route to go down. Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks Joe:biggrin:

The Australian Taxation Office (Tax Office) will request and collect names and addresses and other details of entities who have applied for Visa Subclasses 417, 457, 462, 570, 571, 572, 573, 574, 575, 576, 580 between the period 1/7/2008 and 30/6/2009 inclusive from the following source: Department of Immigration and Citizenship It is called: DIAC/ATO Student and Temporary Working Visa Data Matching Project http://www.ag.gov.au/portal/govgazonline.nsf/C0B47A1DBD927C7DCA25774B0004C112/$file/S%2098.pdf As I understand, this is providing data from DIAC to ATO. Does it work the other way around? Not that I have anything to hide, but am woried about my privacy. I have heard roumors that DIAC has access to tax data. Is it true?
  6. I dream to go back to the UK. I didn't find anything good in Australia, after months of milking money out of me for dozen of licences, certificates, working as a volunteer to get australian work experience, I can't stand this country full of false promises, where I am forced to get next paper, usually useless, but it is a requirement to apply for a job. I want to go back to the UK, and would like to know current situation in this industry. Does anyone know? please let me know

  10. Hi Brizzy Folk I work for a Brisbane based company (we're in the Valley) dealing in bingo software, websites, and products. I'm looking for someone to help with posting online articles and content onto our websites. The role can be part time or full time. The role is quite repetitive so you need to be into administration and repetition:cute:. But most of all, we really need someone who knows bingo and who loves bingo! Most of our clients are in the UK, so it always helps to get some local UK knowledge too. Unfortunately I don't think this role is on the skilled list for 457 visas, but we can consider people on working holiday visas or people who have already migrated here if you're interested in permanent work. The role pays about $40K + super (full time equivalent). The position closes next Thursday 9th April, so just contact me through this site if you're interested. Chris
  11. Hi, My name is Inam, I am an engineer and currently working in Goergia on a single entry visa. I recieved my AU PR and its mentioned on my visa Grant that initial entry has to be made by 22Feb, 09. I cannot travel out of Georgia due to single entry visa so perhaps will miss this timeline by 18 or 20 days. I contacted the AU immigration department via email but they did not respond and I have no other lawyer as I did all the procedure myself. Will my visa be still valid or I will not be able to use it after 22 Feb, 09 Thanks & Awaiting. Regards

    Voice and data cabling

Hi, I'm finding it difficult to find much about my profession. For over 10 years i have installed voice and data cabling networks including cat5e, cat6, telephony and fibre optic cables. For over a year now I have managed projects rather than installing them and would do either. Can anyone help me about job prospects and salaries of this in WA. Visa isn't a problem as my wife is a nurse with family living in WA already. Thanks, Lee:huh:

  15. Basically thats what I am trained in and I will be looking for a position like this when we get over next March/April. I do have an option to come over early if sponsorship is available and I expect my skilled visa to be ready in the new year. My family and I are looking to relocate to SE Brisbane so anything upto an hour commuting is good. If you could keep your ears and eyes open if you are already over in Oz it would be great. I have registered with a couple of Agencies and I have around 7 months to go so lets see what happens. Be Lucky Tricky & Family
  16. While my stuff is bouncing across the high seas I intend to hop in a car and just drive for a couple of months. Along the way I would like to pick up emails using my laptop, can anyone tell me who is the best mobile provider for internet access?

    Skill matching Data Base

When I sent off my PC's & change of circumstance form, I also completed Form 47SK (skills match). I've received an email saying that my skills were put onto the data base today and would stay on for 2 years or until I migrate to Aus - has anyone had prospective employers contact them via this route? and more importantly would they put me on the data base if I wasn't going to be granted a visa??? At least I know that my PC's arrived safely, I was begining to think they'd got lost in the post. Ali
