  1. I had an email from them on 5/3/14 saying they'd received my application & the money was taken the same day. I've asked my uni & NMC for further info to be sent to cover criteria 2,3 & 8 so now hoping they can do that & also hoping it doesn't get lost in transit.
  2. Look at the ANMAC website. For a PR visa you need to have a skills assessment completed by ANMAC & as part of this process you need to complete the academic IELTS. You don't need IELTS if you go for a temporary visa that requires sponsorship. Whichever visa you decide on you also need to register as a nurse which means applying to AHPRA also.
  3. Start by looking at the immigration website to see what visa you qualify for. If it's a PR visa you'll need to get a skills assessment by ANMAC. You also need to sit the IELTS for your skills assessment & get 7's in all areas as a nurse. Following the skills assessment you submit your EOI & go from there. Good luck.
  4. Thats a pain! Is he still in touch with a manager or something there that could do the reference? Or are you able to get away with a statutory declaration? What did he need for his skills assessment? Sorry, sounds like an interrogation. You must be pulling your hair our, some folk are so awkward & don't realise how important it is x
  5. Thats great news Tigerstripes, the final hurdle & more waiting x
  6. Just thought I'd bump this thread up a bit again. Is everyone still hanging in there? Hopefully it won't be long before those of you who applied at the start of Feb get a CO
  7. Thanks for letting us all know this Harby88. It'll really help once I receive the letter/email asking for further proof. My uni transcript only mentioned pharmacology so it's a definite I'll be asked for more. Even though I'm a community nurse prescriber my other uni transcript didn't even mention that part of my course, typical! Can I ask, do APHRA let you know when they've received your application or is it just a case of waiting to see when the money is taken from your account? Thanks.
  8. Hi Kooky, Sorry but we've not had them yet, not booked until April. I hope your DH gets through his ok. From reading other threads things only appear to be a problem if you are going to cost Australia a lot of money in the future. Let us know how you get on & Ill keep everything crossed for you & us x
  9. Don't know how you're managing to keep your cool Harby88!! I can't quite believe how difficult they're trying to make things. I've only just posted my application off & have asked for my docs to be forwarded from ANMAC. Will wait for the onslaught of extra proof I've to try & get!
  10. You need to sit the academic IELTS if you are wanting a PR visa. You need to score 7s in all areas to meet the requirements of ANMAC. Have a look at the ANMAC website which will let know what documents you need to provide for your skills assessment. You need this to be done before you can submit an EOI for a PR visa. ANMAC assessment usually take around 3 months.

    Good Food Show

I've been to them the last 2 years in Scotland. We saw the Hairy Bikers also & they were hilarious. Last year it was Mary a Berry & Paul Hollywood. There were lots of lovely food tasters on the stalls which was mainly local produce with some different ones selling things like buffalo meat. Also stalls selling kitchen gadgets & utensils. I did enjoy them, it was a day out but it would be easy to spend a lot of money. Hope you enjoy it.
  12. I'm really sorry to hear things didn't work out but hope you get some comfort in knowing you tried & for some reason it wasn't meant to be. Good luck with your future in the UK.
  13. Yes, I'm sure that if you've got a skilled PR visa you can work in any job. The skills assessment is for the visa only.
  14. Our medicals are booked for 7th April. Long time to wait but needed to tie in with school holidays. Will send PCCs around that time also.
  15. So sorry to hear about your father in laws death. I hope you manage to get passports sorted quickly & my condolences to you all. You just need to be there for each other now. Nothing you can say will make it any easier at the moment xx
  16. Congratulations & good luck x
  17. Jumping in to join you all. Lodged application today
  18. Thank you soooo much for sharing. Your spreadsheet is amazing & I applaud your patience & time taken in researching all the details. It's a fantastic help x
  19. Thanks again for taking the time to reply. Delighted everything seems to be working out very well for you & it's heartwarming to hear your update.
  20. That's great to hear. I greatly appreciate the offer of PM you nearer the time & will most definitely take you up on that. If you don't mind me asking are you working more rurally & if so do you have children? Was just wondering as hubby & I really fancy this but have two kids age 12 & 14 at the moment & was unsure how this would be for them.
  21. I didn't send a letter from HR, just my professional references stating my hours/years of service & this was acceptable to ANMAC.
  22. Mine took a very long time but was due to a fault on my part. ANMAC received my application 14/5/13 then in the August I received an email stating they'd contacted my former boss as she hadn't stated she was a registered nurse & they needed to confirm this. My LOD didn't come through until 7/1/14 after I'd contacted them about the delay.
  23. Thanks for the reply GilraenH. The thought of less child protection on the caseload is a very welcome thought! It's NSW we're hoping to head to but no idea exactly where. Will depend greatly on work prospects as the thought of returning to the hospital after so long in community terrifies me. Will keep a close eye on the job sites while I wait for our next stages of visa & APHRA. Hope you're enjoying your new life.
