That was my worry, as im a telecoms engineer and people say its not a steady job like it is here in the uk, all contract work etc

Afternoon All If you enter Australia on a Skilled Visa with no job on arrival etc can you work in another field if a job arises etc? Like if you can over as a carpenter and end up being a job telecoms or sales etc? Thanks all

I live in a nice area back in the UK with barley any crime with my parents etc .. but im not into the whole lifestyle alot of british people have come home from work and sit indoors as the weathers generally rubbish! just mean like hows the job in general? as my current role not mentions any big names is a terrible place to me atm, every sentence ends in if you dont we will discipline you, weve have lads commit suicide actually in work and others have had break downs or forced out ... its not my scene i dont enjoy! the money and overtimes good but here in northen england ... i like simple pleasures like a nice dry day which is rare to come home and sit in the garden and relax not sit cooped up inside in fron of the tv .... there is things to do in the uk but as i class myself as working class it all costs alot of money and alot of things are weather permitting.

Whats the reality of moving from the UK, alot of people mention racism etc...? if i do go ahead and attempt to move, im 22 and will be doing it alone so itll be a pretty big move leaving family, and some close friends behind. im just sick of the lifestyle and the state of the UK these days, i like the simple pleasures in life, a little bit of sunshine, people watching, walking the dog in sun on the beach, being able to sit out after work when we get the occasional nice day i england! I see alot of posts about people saying they compare it to england, obv everyone who moves does in some respects but im willing to give it a good go, at the end of the day each country has different views, way of living etc. and i do know some people dont like use british moving over as we are taking jobs etc Id be coming over in the telecoms sector, telecoms technition etc, if anyone knows the field well? safe full jobs? working hours? and lifestyle based around this role? Hello, First off im Sean ..this is my first post aswel haha Currently living in the UK, Just turned 22 and have worked since i was 16 for BT/Openreach as telecoms field engineer. Left school is 6 GSCE's B grade, and 5 at C grade. I also have BTECH and NVQ3 in telecommunications aswell as other qualifications such as signing, lighting and guarding in the street. I generally work on both overhead and undeground copper cabling but do do some fibre splicing/jointing also. Ive wanted to move to Australia since i was about 15.... but ive only looked into it, theres alot of infomation and its a long process so ive never read to deep into it. Whats the chance of a shot of moving over? im coming in 2014 for 4 weeks on holiday to see the east coast. Thanks Sean
