  1. Have you managed to sell your house @MovingtoTasmania. We had a viewing yesterday and another one this afternoon. Can't wait to get it sold so we can make some firm plans. Congratulations if you've managed to sell.
  2. We did it ourselves (myself actually) no problems at all except everyone had to shut up and be quiet while I filled in all the details, over and over again. A lot of it is repetitive. If you have lots of evidence of defacto and no specific health issues then save yourself a fortune and do it yourself. TBH even if an agent it it for you all the answers will come from you anyway as its just loads and loads of personal details. good luck
  3. Yes, same here. It's a bit long winded and repetitive but really easy to do yourself (assuming you have no medical issues and a clean police check) Good luck Metoo
  4. I'm not sure to be honest Lindor, I will have to take the "we lost your deeds letter" to my solicitor if the house ever sells. Fortunately, I have saved a photo copy of the deeds and I managed to keep my copy safe for 30 yrs. Shame the bank wasn't as careful as I was. I'm well cheesed off. I am going to close my current account with Santander on Monday, I already transferred my ISA away from them last year because their service was awful. Will let you know how I get on. :swoon:
  5. Did anybody opt to keep the Deeds to their house in the 'Deed Safe' with the Alliance and Leicester. my mortgage was paid off several years ago and I was asked if I would like to leave the Deeds in their Deed Safe for SAFE KEEPING. I agreed to do this just in case I had a fire, or got robbed or something. i am now selling my house and requested that they return the deeds to me. Apparently thy are unable to return them as they have been LOST. The bank have lost my deeds OMG. I can't even go to the bank and shout at someone as they have been taken over by Santander who IMO are just as bad as A & L. Once upon a time you could trust the bank, no so anymore!!!!!!!!
  6. We are on holiday at the moment, visiting Devon and Cornwall. Just got back from Lands End today, Sidmouth yesterdy, tomorrow we are going to the Eden Project, Port Isaac on Thursday, ilfracombe on Friday and back home on Saturday. Very funny weather though, one minute bright sunshine and the next it's chucking it down. Having fun though, love, love love being on holiday
  7. Hi Tonyman, a rheumatologist will be checking for problems with your joints usually caused by a faulty immune system. This may involve blood tests, ex rays, bone scans and a lot of pressing and squeezing of joints. Good luck, I hope they can get to the bottom of what's causing you problems.
  8. Lots of women

    Hot flushes

They are horrible Stacey, men get away with so much, they don't know they're born.

    Skin Cancer

I went to the docs to ask if he could treat my verruca. He ignored my verruca and asked how long had I had the mole on the sole of my foot. I said I didn't even know I had a mole there. Doc then made me an appointment straight away to have it looked at by the hospital. He said all moles on the bottom of your feet should be regarded as suspicious. :elvis: Anyway, mine was measured and photographed and I had to go back after a few weeks to have it re-measured to see if it was getting any bigger. That was about 8 yrs ago, I still have the mole but I keep an eye on it just in case it turns nasty. Before this, I had no idea that you could get skin cancer on the sole of your feet.

    Hot flushes

I can sympathise with that Quoll, that is how I feel. They come on suddenly and make you feel dizzy and sick. I am currently having about 3 per hour which is quite debilitating. Not looking forward to the 22hr flight, must make sure i have an aisle seat so I can escape if needs be lol.

    Hot flushes

Thanks Fifi, i have been having mega hot flushes just lately and sometimes go outside to standing the garden to cool down. Was wondering what you do when its as warm outside as it is inside. Docs are dead stingey with HRT these days, you have to grin and bear it. If I knew how long they went on for it wouldn't be so bad but a woman at work has had them for 8 yrs :elvis:

    Hot flushes

Just a thought, can any ladies on here tell me how you cope with the dreaded hot flushes in a country that is already hot. Is it any worse or just the same, or is it indeed less noticeable as you are already hot anyway lol. Thanks
  17. @HappyHeart, I just found ths link. May be of some help Metoo http://www.absguide.com.au/wiwo-or-sav/

  19. I am sooooo jealous, hope you are all making the most x
  20. We had our certified by a serving police officer, this was rejected by immi and we had to get them done again by a solicitor.
  21. Two of my grown up kids work part time as they can't find full time work. Employers prefer two part timers than one full timer, they can manipulate hrs more easily, not much good for employees who want to work full time though. Also, they can't claim working tax credits as their contracts are less than 30 hrs pw.
  22. Just signed. Extortionate amount of fees, they will probably do it just because they can  Edited to say, thanks Bob for binging this to our attention
  23. It might be worth letting them help you with obtaining your visas but I wouldn't be paying the for the other stuff. Travel agents can help you to book flights, or book your own on the Internet as most people do. Shipping companies help you to move your stuff over and they are professionals who can advise you what to take etc. import taxes??? There may not be any unless you are bringing your wine cellar with you. There is loads of advice on here for free, I would save your money and do it yourself. Make sure the agents you are dealing with are MARA registered BEFORE you part with any money. Good luck Peasy
  24. Probably not, she likes to make her point, again, and again and again :mask:
  25. Hi, Does anyone know if you can import a car and a caravan in the same name. I know that only one car per person is allowed but can that same person bring a caravan also. Many thanks
