  6. :grumpy1 i feel your pain, i was gutted when i left our two with golden arrow, however they were fantastic and both my dogs arrived in melbourne safe and well, we visited twice a week for four weeks, hour and half there, hour and half visit and hour and half home, hard work but worth it. Bringing them home was the best day ever. Yours will be fine Good luck with it all Claire x
  7. hiya We crated both of ours as puppies and they really loved it, just use it as a safe place where they can relax, we used to put them in to start with for a few mins at a time, it had bedding and some toys and we always used to leave a little treat in it, we also used it to get them used to being left alone, once they happy in it start popping out of the room, first for a few mins and them longer. We also had a very strict rule that puppies crates were their santuary and if in it they were not to be fussed or stroked it was their place for time out. I also believe you should never ever put them in it for punishment, if our were ever naughty they used to get time out in another room but never in the crate. Our first dog always slept in it until a year old even with the door open and we used to store old towels etc on the top, when we got our next puppy she waltzed into the house and into the bed in the crate, our first one too umbrage to this and started sleeping on the top so in effect they had bunk beds lol Claire x
  8. Hi with NAB it cost $10 to pay a uk cheque in, top tip tho you can pay up to 3 cheques on one slip so only one fee, ideal for christmas and birthdays when grandparents seems to send money. Also NAB you sign a declaration and they clear the funds to your account immediately even tho it takes a week or two to process, basically you sign to say you will give the money back if the cheque bounces Claire x

  11. Hi, i've just gone through the process and am now registered with the nurses board of victoria. We have a visa application in so its just a waiting game now apart from the slight matter of selling the house!! Once you've qualified i think oz prefers you do have some post registration experience, i have 1yr in my head but prob worth verifying that. As far as employer sponsorship goes i'm not too sure. I do see many nurses here who have got sponsorship (adult nurses, i'm a psychiatric nurse) so it is certainly possible as is a state sponsorship visa. The process that i underwent was to get a 'skills assessment' via the Australian Nursing Midwifery Council (ANMC) check there website for the application forms, then its a case of collecting all the relevant information and sending it in to be processed. Once i got the skills assessment we then applied for our 175visa at the same time as i applied to be registered with the nursing board of the state we want to live in, which for us is Victoria. To get my skills assessment and register with nursing board of victoria prob took 3-4months. The biggest pain was verifying my working career as i have moved around and had a few jobs and it's 19yrs since i qualified so i had difficulty obtaining a transcript of my nurse training. Just work you way through the application process carefully and you should be ok. If i can be of any help just ask Good luck
  12. Hi, i'm having a bit of a panic so would be grateful for some clarification. Here in UK i completed my training as a RMN and have been working as one since. I completed my skills assessment and have just registered with the NBV. I'm registered as Div1, general. Is this right?? please dont tell me i should have registered as div3 or specialist!! I'm now panicing incase i misunderstood the different categories
