Janeydv
Hi everyone, We are flying out tomorrow to activate our permanent visa, however, our 10 month old is really poorly and I don't think flying is the best thing for him! I was wondering if we could activate his visa without him traveling with us? (before I enrage mothers around the world, he'd be looked after by my mum who is a nurse and our holiday would be cut short)

AJ
You cant do it for him, he needs to go, so you either postpone or take another trip when he is better unfortunately
lebourvellec
Everyone needs to validate own visas. If visa is not validated in time, you would need to apply for child 101 visa current cost around $2000 + medicals and police checks for adults. Processing 8-12 months. Prob better to change flights until he is better.
dxboz
What a shame Janey sounds like you would be best to change your flights. Good luck

Quinkla
I trust this all ends well. But it does make me wonder whether, at 10 months old, you could get away with bringing a doll in a carrycot and telling the border guard that the baby is asleep. Obvo this would be illegal and the consequences for being caught far outweigh the benefits of getting away with it, but it does make me wonder. CollegeGirl
Quinkla - bubs must have a passport to travel. Their ID is going to be checked and compared to their face just like anyone else's. Nice try, though. lol

No my daughter came through security with her 3 day old baby to wave me off. They made her take her out the pram and checked it all and she wasn't even getting on the plane. gumster
That is one of the most ridiculous suggestions I have ever seen on here! Lol !! My OH suggested you could always borrow a child! - I bet there's plenty of parents wanting to get shut of one after a long haul flight! He always says the overhead luggage compartment is a good place to keep kids on a flight! He doesn't have children...thankfully!
