Activating visa but baby is ill

Hi everyone,

We are flying out tomorrow to activate our permanent visa, however, our 10 month old is really poorly and I don't think flying is the best thing for him! I was wondering if we could activate his visa without him traveling with us? (before I enrage mothers around the world, he'd be looked after by my mum who is a nurse and our holiday would be cut short)

If baby is ill could you not postpone it?

I trust this all ends well.

But it does make me wonder whether, at 10 months old, you could get away with bringing a doll in a carrycot and telling the border guard that the baby is asleep. Obvo this would be illegal and the consequences for being caught far outweigh the benefits of getting away with it, but it does make me wonder.

Thanks for the laugh.

That is one of the most ridiculous suggestions I have ever seen on here!

No my daughter came through security with her 3 day old baby to wave me off. They made her take her out the pram and checked it all and she wasn't even getting on the plane.

Lol !! My OH suggested you could always borrow a child! - I bet there's plenty of parents wanting to get shut of one after a long haul flight! He always says the overhead luggage compartment is a good place to keep kids on a flight! He doesn't have children...thankfully!
