Iron Chef
2000BMW 330i Touring (petrol) Manual, 5sp 100k mileage 3l RWD aircon UK value £1100 Redbook private value $8-9,000 AUS market value $8-9,000 less import stigma Melbourne I don’t think that 3 litre tourings brought into in Australia, only sedans might ship a 20’ container anyway so actual shipping cost negligible considering I can fill the car with stuff too! If it's not costing you much to ship then it's worth considering. I'm pretty sure your manual 330 wagon won't have too much trouble finding a happy buyer when the time comes! Team A-B Hi guys, and welcome! Another rare beast not sold in Australia. I would put that one down as a definite. Again, I don't think you'll have any problems finding a buyer when you decide to sell. Hello I have a land rover discovery 3 , 2007 ,102000 mileage , aircon, cost £10,000 here have checked red book yet , is it worth taking it at all, as can put in container with our personal stuff ,many thanks If you can put it in your container, then yes it's worth your while. Freelanders aren't very popular here. Only bring it if it's your baby. You'd certainly be a hit at your local LR car club! Hi Iron Chef I was wondering if it is worth shipping my car over to Perth, WA Car details:- Mini Cooper Hatch 2011 1.6 L Manual Petrol 37,000 miles UK Value approx £7000 Aus price ? between $20-30000 Thank You Pretty borderline. Low mileage helps its cause. If you've been happy with it so far, then it's worth considering (if it has air con!)

Any info would be much appreciated ,or shall I go through your site Large vehicles are GBP1100 or thereabouts, in terms of the bare shipping costs. There's no real need to change the gauges for Australia if you have km/h somewhere on the dash, but if you'd prefer to change them over for whatever reason, it'll definitely be cheaper to do it in the UK. marenmatt1
Hi Iron Chef. Can you tell me whether it's worth bringing my husband's 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Sti to the UK? It has done about 180000ks & is a sedan.
nineyb27
Hi ironchef thanks for info on my 2011 Mini Cooper hatch. I also have a classic rover mini sport year 2001, one of last 500 made. No air con and can't find much comparison price wise in Australia. Had it recently refurbished but unsure whether it's worth shipping to Perth? Iron Chef
Hi Iron Chef. Can you tell me whether it's worth bringing my husband's 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Sti to the UK? It has done about 180000ks & is a sedan. I hope I don't get in trouble with him for saying this, but as a general rule it's not worth sending cars back to the UK unless you love them or you can't buy them in the UK. The STi would fall into that category. Definitely worth bringing over if it's a classic. Strong prices for the late model original ones here. Lack of aircon won't matter much.

The diesel was never sold here which would help its appeal when selling, but then again, VW diesels aren't really in the good books at the moment

My hubby wants us to ship our Hyundai Santa Fe back - a v ordinary car but low mileage and so reliable - By the time we factor in the cost of selling, buying a new one and potentially being exposed to a lemon, the costs don't seem too high Is this a completely bonkers idea?
