  1. thank you, do you have to prove you can support them aswell as them coming with enough funds to be able to live over there? we would love for partners parent to come over esp when we have children
  2. how long after you move to oz can a parent apply to come over and join you? have been told so many different scenarios just want it cleared up thanks
  3. sorry 85k gbp should of mentioned that sorry. and we would like a 3plus bed home for starting a family. not bothered how quick for car or what is aslong as can commute to work. on the job front we are hoping at least one of use working pretty much straight away
  4. hi everyone we are looking to move to brisbane mid way through 2017. both looking to get jobs as soon as can (metal worker and pharmacy tech). once we have sold our properties and carry on with saving we hoping to get around 85k. obviously need to use this to get flights rental til we can buy,car etc. We like north lakes area will this be enough of a deposit for a house, considering we have to pay rental for 6-12 months? thanks
  5. hi all we are waiting on final bits of our visa to be complete and are currently looking to get quotes for shipping stuff across. just wondering if anyone has ideas of company's to maybe avoid and who are the best? we haven't got a lot to ship really i.e sofa, beds, clothes, large fish tank, motorcycle, few other pieces of furniture and boxes etc. just we have heard a few people saying about bad packing of the container and that is something we really need to avoid. any help would be great thanks
  6. yeah we have been over and looked for jobs earlier in year and although pharmacy technicians don't exist, i did contact baxter healthcare in brisbane and the job there is pretty much the same. my partner doesn't want to go as a sponsored sheet metal worker/ welder just incase he doesn't like the company he wants the freedom to have a look around as was quite a few when we were over. think we are going to use a registered agent instead of doing it ourselves saves all the hassle and worry. i will have a look on the mara site thanks
  7. hi all me and my partner are wanting to apply for our visas after xmas i am a pharmacy technician and partner a sheet metal worker/welder. think we go on his points as on the skills list but any recommendations on a visa professional to help us along the way would be a big help? we are wanting to go to brisbane. how long/cost does the permanent visa take to process? thanks
  8. if anyone could help with this that be great my oh parent wants to move out after we have been in oz, yes we know it has to be over two years she in her 50s now and not sure what the costs would be, or if is better applying for one in oz on a hol or back in uk? and how hard would it be for her to get a property with paying all the money out for a visa to get over there. after selling house for what she hopes would be around 110k GBP how would she do after visa and stuff? obviously she has savings but have no idea what that sum is plus she has a good goverment pension with working in a school for a lot of years so can she claim this over there? and she also has a private pension which she has been paying into for 20 year (at a guess)
  9. as said we have to be there two years before we could sponsor her to come over what if my partners brother did move over would does it mean she has to have two children out of the 3 living in oz for two years or just one aslong as two are living there by time she wants to move? and we have looked at houses she may be able to get yes they are smaller but she dont like big says no need when kids have grown up now so happy to downsize its just how she would buy as guessing be hard to get a mortgage.
  10. it was just to get a rough estimate on how much it would cost to ship things over, prices always change from time to time, really it was just to get an estimate to how much it would be for everything before we started shelling out any cash. we would have to buy stuff over there as dont want to take everything so in the meantime we would buy whatever we needed to get by til we got on our feet properly. but really we just wanted to take sofa and chair, bed with matress (frame comes apart) and maybe our 6ft fish tank (if allowed we not sure yet, would be empty and clean). thats about it really few boxes of clothes.
  11. could we sponsor her? i have heard that term said before when we were on our reccy about sponsoring their parents. and if she has more children outside of oz than in she cannot move is this correct? she has 3 children. as we are looking to emigrate next year my partners brother is also thinking about it but obviously once we move and he can come visit have a look around but this isnt a defo thing he may not like it you never know. so my partners mother may have 2 children outside of oz yeah i seen the sum was around $50,000 she would be selling her house to move over so that not much of a problem.
  12. hi everyone me and my partner are looking to move over next year (around this time) and we are thinking about taking some of our stuff over to save on buying it over there as most of our stuff is newish we live in the north of england and was wondering if anyone new a good company to get quotes off to move to brisbane? wouldnt be much just sofa, bed,etc thanks
  13. hi all me and my partner are looking to emigrate next year to brisbane. i am a sheet metal worker/welder and partner is a pharmacy technician. we wanted someone that was well recommended to sort the visas out for us and not try to rip our eyes out in the process? we been for reccy and loved it but the thing is once we move over and get settled my partners mother is thinking about moving over, to help with kids growing up etc. she is in 50s what/how would she go about applying and what process is it? any help would be great thanks

  24. nah tina0101 as we spoke about before we looking to come out to brisbane area to find a place to move to permanently. i looked on stayz that you recommended its just hard to narrow it down. we looked around bayside but dont know if to rent one holiday home for the whole time and drive around (which we dont mind at all) or split it up and have say 1 a week in a different area. we think we want to be near the coast. somewhere quiet, friendly, good transport, schools, but not to far from brisbane. when you drove did you just drive around and around the areas having a look? we looking to book our flights next week
