Do you know what would happen with the warranty? The official line will be that if you remove a car from the country where it was originally sold, the warranty is no longer valid. That being said, manufacturers have sometimes been prepared to honour warranty work, especially if it's a safety issue. Diesel is around 10-15% more expensive at the pump here which is a bigger price differential than in the UK, so if you're going to be doing a lot of miles then I'd factor that in too. I'll be buying new or nearly new early next year and will own for two years before our planned move back to Australia. I don't have anything particular in mind. Maybe another Velar or a Range Rover Sport. Perhaps embrace my mid-life crisis and get a Jag F-type. I'm weirdly drawn to the new VW ID Buzz long wheel base too. I would typically sell once 3 years old, 4 at the most, so would welcome your advice on anything that would get a good re-sale price. I know the police use them over there so maybe not that rare when I get there. I was at a meet yesterday up in the lake district with 10 other owners and they have all made a profit out of their cars if they were to sell today. Thanks A bit of a tough one to answer, but it seems as though UK built prestige cars seem to cop a fair depreciation hit over there but hold their value in Oz, so I would start there (add Aston Martin to your list). Although the numbers *almost* work on it, I would suggest leaving it behind, mainly because it would be a bit of an orphan in Australia.
