You don't need your passport to be stamped, it is only required if the country that issued the passport requires it. The visa is linked to your passport number electronically.

Saying that would be nice to have it stamped on the passport. I regret missing out on all those european stamps after all the free travel in Europe. LOL

Hopefully Heather and I will be next (although I anticipate it will be Heather). Am hoping that they will have all the info they need from specialist report to finalise hubby's medical quickly.

So having drawn out the process due to not getting to Oz until Feb next year (so didnt anticipate getting a case offer in 8 days) we will have our police checks back tomorrow and medicals are on Monday. fingers crossed well have a visa by the end of the month.

A quick question though what sort of stuff are your medicals being refered for, if you dont mind saying? Nothing wrong with hubby and me but you know how you worry about even the simplist of things.

Hiya, he has his apt on Monday (Panel doc recommended him) so hopefully his report should be uploaded later next wk then we wait, so maybe we'll be both waiting at the same time! Have to say I am so busy with work and kids that the time is whizzing by and I don't seem to be that stressed, I think that will come when we get the visa!

Dont be down...my friend is over from Brisbane and has said we will never look back once we make the move and also that unemployment is around about 5%. I think if you are prepared to do anything until you find the job you really want to do then you will be OK. Thats my philosophy anyway.

Oh Heather I really hope you are right. Mind you I teach economics and 5% isnt bad when full employment is considered at 3% unemp rates.

Am just so fed up of doom and gloom here that I cant bare the idea of more of it.

Jesus it could get bad...I just feel after all with are foreigners there - we're not here and we have local experience for industry when looking or employment and support from family if needs be. We wont have that over there.

I think Im feeling really down because for the last few days in Ireland the media has been going on about the outlook particularily bad this week as on the weekend we had 12,000 people queuing up at emigration expos to leave the country while in a function room next door a political party was having standing ovations for their leader....making me feel kinda sick.

We have savings but god they dont last long when youve no jobs.

Thanks guys I dont mean to dump on everyone think Im just feeling seriously worried, apprehensive about such a big move in our life and bit shocked we could be going to the same situation after all that visa lark!

Im aging rapidly here!

Hi Ack

I think you are only going through a natural process of short term cold feet and not knowing what to expect...it is a scary and a massive decision we have all taken.
