Eng32
Hello everyone Today, 3-Jan-2012 we have received the best gift one could possibly get from DIAC to start our New Year. We received our Visa Grant notice today after sending in the FBI checks on 1-Jan-2012. What a way to start the New Year in style. I would like to thank the countless people on this forum who by the sheer nature of sharing have provided immense support. We plan to move to Melbourne and make our initial entry by Nov 2012. hmsmark
Hi All, I noticed that some guys have already done their medicals and police clearance even before they were assigned Case Officers ? Is that normal and can i decide to go and do that pending the time my case officer is assigned ? You can "frontload" your medicals and Police Clearances. However, medicals and PCs expire, usually one year after they're performed. So, once granted, your visa will need to be validated (as in you travel to Australia) by the expiration date. So, if you just applied and you take your meds and pc now, then you get your visa grant, say, October 2012, then you will only have until January 2013 to get vailidated since your meds and police checks will expire one year from when they were done. This may not fit with your plans. If you had waited until you got a CO, then you would have more time to validate. Also, while DIAC has been moving along at a good clip recently, there have been times when applicants medicals expire before they get their grant, and they have to have them redone, pay the fee for the exam again, and so on. Usually it is best to wait until you have a CO or, if you're paying attention to this thread and spreadsheet, until you are a month or so away from getting a CO. pandv_2000
Attended the medicals on 31st, and my status has being updated as below; Mine 03/01/2012 Health requirements finalised 03/01/2012 Further medical results received 02/01/2012 Further medical results received 02/01/2012 Further medical results received 03/01/2012 HIV blood test received Baby 03/01/2012 Health requirements finalised 31/12/2011 Further medical results received Husband 25/06/2011 Health requirements outstanding 03/01/2012 Further medical results referred 03/01/2012 Further medical results referred 03/01/2012 Further medical results referred 03/01/2012 HIV blood test referred Not sure why my spouse medical status is "referred". Hope it is nothing to worry about . Any idea anyone? (Please update the excel too) @hmsmark: I think it will be around May 20th, due to the holidays.. We had our meds on the 19th. Mine and the kids were finalised on the 21st but hubby's were referred. He mentioned in the medical that he had a spontaneous pnuemothorax (collapsed lung) 3 years ago - no issues since but something could have shown up in the xray. The doctor made a note of it on his form and so it was referred in Aus. Once it was looked at in Aus it was finalised on Christmas Eve so yours should hopefully be finalised soon. Mummy Mann
I have sent off for my police checks today and have booked my meds for next week. I am a June applicant and have not been allocated a case officer as yet, but I am hoping all June applicants will have case officers by the end of the month

Or does anybody here know somebody denied of a 175 visa? - John Paul http://towardsaustralia.blogspot.com Chronicles of my Independent Skilled Migration Application to Australia If you look at some previous pages of this thread 'Dinkydoo' was refused a visa for not meeting the work experience criteria. Also just to let you know that we have a part 2 of this thread now as the person who ran it had other things going on and it can't be transferred so we had to start a new one!
