mansukhpatel
Hey mansukpatel, sorry for the rejection mate. What's next? Your IELTS should be good enough to go for a 175. Will you? Name: mansukhpatel Date of SMP application: 4th Jan 2011 Trade/profession: ICT 2231-79 (Network Security) Nationality: British IELTS (if applicable): L:8, R:7, W:7, S:9 Visa type: 176 DIAC Priority (if applicable): Delays/further docs requested: requested commitment statement SS received: rejected 9th May 2011 comments: 175 is not an option as the occupation I nominated got rejected by the assessor. Instead they suggested an alternative which is not on the 175 list. It was on the SA SMP but missed the deadline without skills. It is on ACT n NT but I don't have the funds showing on statements going back three months as they are tied in property. Can't see any other option other than wait for 1st July changes

I may have to renew my assessment which will expire on first week of June. Thanks, -Melvin Melvin, Congrats for getting the most coveted SS!! :cute: My ACS app has been in for four weeks now. Not expecting any miracles from ACS and really hoping to get it in 12 weeks as they say. First week of June? I got no IELTS yet, yeah funny but true! The next General Test will be on June 11, by that time my ACS is already lapsed. I got too complacent, I wasn't expecting this VIC sponsorship at all with the rejecting trends in the past.
Guest Buddy
HI may have to renew my assessment which will expire on first week of June. Thanks, -Melvin why don't you lodge your 176 application now? as long as your PASA is valid, by the date you submit your 176, then it will be accepted, and it does not matter if it expire while your visa application is being processed (and this is exactly my case, I applied for 176 on 8-Apr-2011, and my PASA expired on 27-Apr-2011) poms, correct me if I'm wrong

If you're confident that you'll pass your IELTS it could be worth a try. Depends on how willing you are to take a risk
Guest LizaMel
Thanks ,Buddy for that note. Uli, I was thinking the same, however, I got 2 questions: 1. In that 28-days period, do you already have DIAC reference number ( to be submitted to VIC)? 2. How long before the IELTS result will be released after the exam? Yes Sir, if you apply online you get your TRN immediately. At least this was the case for me. However, I know it can take some weeks for paper-based. 2. You'll be able to check your results online 13 days after the test. The certificate will be sent to you 1-3 days later.

Just go for Academic if earlier dates are available, since all that you need is 6 bands in each module, which isn't rocket science. I'd say you can even travel to some other city/country if you get a place and trust me this is far better than waiting for ACS, which has no regard for time. Edit: Didn't see Buddy's post. Buddy you beat me this time! armandra!
Guest LizaMel
Thanks, armandra, Buddy & Uli for your feedback! Truly you've been very helpful! I will think and carefully consider your recommendations. Travelling would be a good idea!!!

Depends on how willing you are to take a risk  but there is one problem: when you fill the visa application, you are required to give the IELTS "Test Report Form Number" , this number is only available on the IELTS paper, if you don't have it you will need to fill some false number...
