Guest cazbeckham Posted October 24, 2010 Share Posted October 24, 2010 Hi Guys I and Annie on here organised a PIO meet up of people who had moved here and we met in Buderim Tavern in September and have since had a bbq at Cotton Tree Park. There was about 20 of us in the Tavern and I spoke to the Manager who put a few tables and menus for us at the back of the bar which overlooks Mooloolaba. They normally charge for this room if you want it solely for your use but we said we didint mind general public coming in as well so I got it for nothing. Had a great evening with all great people. Sounds like another meet with new people in the new year is on the cards so please add Barry and myself (Carol or Caz) to the list and we will gladly welcome you here and I will be your surrogate Mum for those whose mums are left in UK. As Barry and I are just in 60's we thought the young people we met in Sept would not want us in the group but they said we were good - we are young at heart. IF you want me to organise some tables in the Tavern for the night in Feb give us a shout and I will organise it for you unless someone else wants to do it. We have been here for just 2 years now and living in Buderim (not on top of Buderim in posh bit) but off Stringybark Road near the Sippy Downs Sunshine Coast Uni and it would be great to meet up with newbies coming otu here. Who knows we could even get together in a park later for a 2 group PIO meet, you lot with the lost we have already made friends with, what do you think. 1.Mr and Mrs Luvpants. This is what we have done with the first PIO meet we had a couple of months ago and it worked well as everyone had each others emails as well. They do lovely bar meals cheap as well and also meals in the Restaurant which can be brought out to the room which I will reserve if everyone wants me to organise it? The large room at the back of the bar is the same room they hold a Trivia night every Tuesday evening so hopefully we will get a few more groups along to that as well. I served my time as a joiner but been in glazing for the last 15-20 years (own company). Maybe looking at setting something up once in OZ if your OH interested ?? Just a thought.
